Looks like that's not the only thing that didn't cooperate with Hachi for v0.82.1. After Zero does a good job cleaning her work area:
UI/Images are not scaled up when fast forwarding. Happens in older events too. I would suspect that he upgraded game engine and hit a glitch in new version. Go back and forward and ui scales up

Well, I never did fast forward, so anything dealing with that wouldn't be applicable. But upgrading might have caused issues, I would agree.

reported shrinkage after previous version. on this version i got it after scrollback and scrolling forward.

How is this considered a kinetic novel? Management and sandbox tags generally don't mix with that one. It's been a long while since the last update I played, but there didn't seem to be anything too kinetic about it.

Yeah, I don't think this is quite kinetic; that tag might need to be removed. If you want, you can report the OP and in the "Other" box say why.

It's decently close, though — the storylines for individual girls from the quest log and the main story as well are very straightforward and don't really have choices... at least not that I remember. But there are some more minor choices: which girls' work to check and punishing or rewarding them; which activities (including some punishments) to do with different girls (increasing their love, submission, exhibitionism, etc.); and I think a few other small things. So not 100% kinetic, but the player is very much just along for the ride with not all that much input on what happens.

besides what cookie said tagging games is 1 of mysteries of F95, games basically kn get vn tag and it stays like it's written on rock.

Next time your boss wants you to do something tell them "hey I have to wait at lest one day after this conversation to do that", and then see how well that goes for you. I am totally sick of seeing, "wait at lest one day and then..." in the hints

you can skip time by sleeping more than 1 day.

Just wanted to say I love the game and play it from time to time.

Wanted to also point out that the funnest times were when you were doing slice of life island things while the plot was still relatively vague. Mostly because it gave you a chance to learn more about the girls and vice versa instead of a generic goal where you meet 20 more girls who have neither a personality nor almost any scenes with you.

It was fun getting to know Yuki, exploring the island, having Alice open up, solving whodunit mysteries, taming Leah, having Hazel be a kind of sleazy young aunt type and the entire Sarah arc etc

Almost all of those are lacking nowadays and are probably not fixable without a ton of new content or just plainly writing out half of the extended cast.

Game's still fun, but 90% of the charm was definitely in the first 50%.

I'm not advocating to end it btw, I definitely think these things can be fixed. At this point, the more the merrier just based on not wanting to "say goodbye".

well we don't know that much about ex-enemies backgrounds outside nyx's.

I totally agree with you. Actually i feel like the game should have endend before the enemy base and all…
It must be hardto start again from scratch but the game’s flavor has ebolved from quite some time now.
i once found this game super cute and refreshing.

I also think it's better to have focused and well paced stories that end at their best. Continuing something forever usually end up with everyone being bored and nobody minding it anymore.
I'm sure I could mention like at least 20 TV Shows that overstayed their welcome but were really well liked in the beginning by audiances.
I feel this game is going down the same path. Its just artificially too far prolonged

That's where patreon pushes games into. Game does indicate infinite story with possible branches at the beginning. So far we have only one linear story without branching.

I feel that the game needs more "meat". There are too many things that are just there or that they are suppossed to make the game fill up, when it actualy makes it more empty. There are so many interactions with the early "cast" that are still to be implemented. As for the story i like it, i believe that if it ended, say by the end of next year (since the updates are monthly) it would be "forced" and it would make no sense. It would be like "..and then they won !" Something that i could mention is this : the developer of Fet(four elements trainer) has finished the game's story 2 years now (?) but keeps making new releases because people pay for them. I could say that the "they lived happily/fuckingly ever after" part is like 1/3 in size of the how-did-we-get-there part of the game. This is something that could be done here. Make the progression about the story and the characters bonding (pun intended) so it makes sense but keep the othere stuff for later. Personally i would love to see the endless happily ever after of the islanders.

Not knowing much about the new girls backgrounds is not the issue. The problem is that they're never expanded upon.

Even when the cast is first expanded during the organisation arc e.g Zero, Nadia, you're never really given a reason to like them because you don't know them. You don't get the chance to know them at all, beyond "this is my sob story and I am now subservient to you".

No cooking shenanigans, no catty bar conversations, no socializing with the other girls, no island adventures. The stat system that would previously unlock new interactions and scenes has basically been completely scrapped.

The problem is that the first half of the cast has been in the works for a long time and are actually interesting and conhesive, the latter half is rushed, generic and lacking substance. The flavor was always the island and the friend group of the protagonist's harem's interactions with it, their experiences with each other and relationships.

Adding a bunch of characters and moving forward too fast without any care about those mechanics just waters it down. There's too much focus on conflict versus compatibility and character development.

I 100% think the game should continue, and these issues can absolutely be fixed by having an extended "downtime" arc where the cast is fully integrated to the island and with each other.

Maybe I should answer a few frequently asked questions about the game:

> Do you plan to let this game go on indefinitely?

No, I plan to let the story play out as I conceptualized it before I started making the first render. There were a lot of story elements added throughout the game that I haven't planned for, but found fun, so I just had to do them. However, the overall story is still on track. I can't make any predictions on when exactly the main story will be done, but I'm not trying to pad things intentionally. If I find something like to do in the story, I take the chance to do it.

I plan to continue updating Hail Dicktator even after the main story concluded, but at a slower pace. At the same time, I have a follow up project planned, though it would be a spoiler to talk more about it.

I also have one completely different project in the works, as well as an unrelated VN-ish game (currently only exists in writing).
I'm very grateful for everyone who enjoyed Hail Dicktator up until now, so I will continue to tell the story I wanted to tell until the end.

Yes, even though there are a lot of characters. Giving each satisfying character development is difficult, but I still want to do it. However, for me, the story has to be in a certain state to drive the development without writing myself into a corner. The situation now is a good example of a state where that can be done. This current public update and the next two contain mainly updates on the island mechanics to give everyone something to do (expanding on the punishment/reward system).
As for character development, there are a lot of things I still like to do with the girls. Some of them tie into the main story, so I've been holding off until it's time to do so.
