it's been a year and the guy has not even started on episode 12 yet because he want's to get the game onto Steam. dude takes in 3k a month from supporters and has screwed them all over
I'm curious is $3,000 per month really enough to cover this game's development costs? Why the obsession with a Steam release right now? Wouldn't it make more sense to launch after the game is actually complete?

Development costs nothing but time (all development tools are free). There's nothing in the desire to get on Steam except the greed for money - to snatch some more from the corpse of the game.

Because for the game to be on Steam (as long as the game is okay with VISA and Mastercard that is now) opens an entirely new and life changing (for a lot of developers) revenue stream. Steam for a lot of developers is a really big deal, some of those people also migrate to Patreon and will even support some developers after finding the game on Steam.

The situation with the internet now is rough and seems to be getting worse by the day. And yeah I agree, if Steam or as you said, those 2 masterfluck... allow it, it will change things drastically, giving multiple places for income. that will definitely increase, by how much? Have no idea, but I guess idk 50% per month.

Nothing personal, really, but the mindset of people like you but who pays those scammers is the reason this shit happens all around. Because in your example we can see that even now there are still people who defend or justify the dev to some extent and look for imaginary arguments instead of looking truth in the eyes. I already saw clear as day years ago that this dude will not create expected content for years before he milks his supporters patience to the max, and only then MAYBE will he accomplish what he started and not just run away with cash like a lot of others. Dev actually looks at you or me as potential dumb losers who can bring him cash for his lazy "work" and nothing more. Adult game devs are not your friends or family to put this much trust and faith in them just like that.

I already wrote somewhere that I myself worked as a professional scammer on dating platforms with a team, real models, etc. And let me tell you that with my experience it is very easy to see a comrade-scammer behavior on the internet) The only difference is that adult games paying target audience is way easier to scam and milk than lonely dudes on dating sites :KEK:
I completely agree with this sentiment regarding this game. This VN started off good and I enjoyed it, its content is still decent and good quality, but updates and new content are few and far between. One could argue the reasons and yes its probably mostly about the money and then the time or both.

The big issue I have with some developers are that they drag out their games with bullshit repetitive content (or no content) and there are plenty of those going around. They don't do anything actually new, even if the main plot does not progress much or is almost non-existent, they don't do anything new in THEIR game.

I mean not some new kink to be invented, I mean new content as in kinks but ones not introduced before, better versions of previous kinks, not just a new angle or person, a new experience, like the MC has learned to go down on a LI and really pushes that experience, stuff show growth and push previous boundaries (in same game).

Add story progression then you are providing reasonable content/updates. This bonus shit, or 5min content that is a rinse repeat and really goes nowhere is just stringing along and taking the piss so the dev can make more money. Plan your game and path, give a reasonable time-frame and get it out there...but nope, its better to have the moron supporters throw money at it and when they stop the dev decides "well then im not gonna make anything more :p " then supporters start getting pissed, meanwhile they should have been paying attention, often the writing is against the wall long before...

I like you (no homo). I'd even go for a beer with you IRL.

It's a pitty. The game itself is still (was) top for me. But the game developement is now a clusterfuck. It got already worse with Ep9. But after that...sigh...
And on top it seems on Patreon you have to pay at least $10 now to get officially the latest game release! Below: still no access to Ep11. After more then a year now! WTF!

I heard from a dev that some character models need to be purchased from asset stores, but I'm not sure about the pricing.
