I swear the MC is such an idiot. Would love to be able to actually make choices that mattered but instead we make inconsequential decisions while the MC is an unfiltered idiot that somehow has three women interested in him. I'd love it if the MC could actually behave like he actually spent 4 years in prison and has matured in anyway. Or if the women weren't so uninteresting. I can't stand Ashley or Emily and I don't see the MC really ending up with Samantha with the way he acts.

Love the renders, love the overall idea of the game, just want the MC to be a tiny bit more serious.

Even in RL juvie is really not prison so I think the MC acts like he spent 4 yrs in juvie with little or no contact with females.

Having not tried this update yet, but being the ever diligent person I pretend to be on the internet, of course I have read others reactions...

I for one am fine with the lack of lewd (with this story in general). I feel this story would probably be less appealing if he was the typical MC with titties flying at him. It's a slow burn, yes, but I for one occasionally enjoy a buildup. Let me find the one I want, and get there on a semi realistic timetable (for a VN, of course). I will check this update tonight when I get home from work (with a whole new playthrough since my HDD went DOA), and if my mind changes, I'll edit this post.

This game is lacking some juice and sometimes i feel like this game should be sandbox.

Don't get me wrong, this game comes with great story, but making so many renders about getting stitches out seems like a waste of time.

It's not even blue-balling game, it became absolute Boredom !

Protagonist is a silver-tongued moron. He's so fucking thick it constantly gets on my nerves.
Ashley, despite being my type of girl, is completely unlikable. Good job mr. writer, I had no idea someone could actually to do that.
Emily is too much of a tsundere stereotype for me to like her. I've read enough of that shit in numerous Japanese VNs, I don't want more of that stuff in western games too.
Very little sexual content so far.
List of planned fetishes is completely not my taste.
In summary, I'm not interested in this game anymore.

This was mundane bordering on blatant filler if I am brutally honest from my perspective. One thing that always worries me is when the MC starts to act more child like and everyone around him are like the adults and MC acts like a younger person than what he is supposed to be. That is always a worrying sign. Usually from other games they tend to start to lean into that to create silly dialogue or situations to stretch out more content/scenes. Really hope this is just an off chapter and not a trend.

But if I am just putting the cards on the table I hope this game is not going to be stretched far beyond what it should be for money or because it is a good earner for the dev. Every story has a limit to what feels natural and to me that chapter definitely felt like a stretch beyond what is natural to extend the games life cycle.

Like it or not, that is how the dev is doing it. When you sit down to write a story, sometimes the words just flow and you end up with a lot of dialogue. Sometimes, the opposite happens, and the flow of dialogue seems stilted and awkward. In this game, the banter is considered an essential part - the MC is a goofball (part of his defense mechanism perhaps, like in a few other games, e.g. the MC in Avalon); the teasing banter between him and Samantha, him and Ashley, him and Emily, Ashley and Emily, Emily and the doc, ... I thought they were very well done. Did I want the dev to get on with it and skip some of the dialogue? Sure, but I'm not the dev - he has to proceed at the pace that feels right to him. This game has been a slow burn from the start, and I love it.

Regarding lewd stuff, we get to see Emily close up - lovely renders too - and get to first base with her. Personally, I'm happy with the pacing. I wish the updates were more frequent, of course, but I'm willing to wait if necessary. This is one of the good ones.

Did we just skip the getting married to Emily part? I love how she is already acting like the doting wife in just about every situation she is very affectionate towards the MC and it's cute. Enjoyed this update very much the only sad part was when it ended looking forward to the next part.

It's funny how people complain about the lack of sex scenes. Not every VN has to turn into a fuckfest in the third episode at the latest. If you want a fuckfest, play games from Daniels K for example instead.
I'm not making fun of Daniels K. It's just a different type of story story, which has a different pace.
I think the little nudity that Halfway House offers in the context of that story up to this point is much more sexy than the hardcore action in many other VNs.
