I just update my mod cuz the dev makes the UI garbage to artificially increase game length by increasing player input over time and it's easy enough to maintain that I'm willing to share it on here.

F95 is not just piracy forum - it's good addvertisement tool - if people really enjoy the game - it's very likely that they will go to support dev on his support platform. It's ok to complain (as it is ok to praise good projects) - as it helps people to decide if game is any good without having to spend hours on content they will not enjoy.
Complaining about people complaining about some actual problems of the dev is not wise. It won't change people mind and it won't help the game itself, as well.
I would support this dev for sure (as I do enjoy the art) - if he would provide more content with updates.

Yea, I'm not talking about regular complaining though. And 90% of this thread is that anyway, anyone should be able to see that reading a random sample of the last 100 pages of this thread. I mean the complete derailments to where it turns from the regular trigger topics, in this case "scam milker dev" into driveling shouting matches.

You know, most of those derailments stem from someone coming and trying to shame people for voicing their criticism of the game and its dev. I can see how people coming here basically telling you that your opinion is worthless because you didn't spend money is definitely a trigger.

Understandable, I just don't like reasoning that people can't express their opinion, because they didn't buy the game. To be fair I now only check for info/comments regarding content of the update after release.

That was in 1997. 25 years ago. And in all honesty? If you're not paying to make the game happen do you get an opinion? Devs dont work for free. This dev is catering to his paying customers. Any 'criticisms' here are moot, at best, whining at worst. You don't have to like that. The cold hard reality is if you're not *supporting* the dev you don't get to cry about the product. So lets stop acting like leeches have 'criticisms' and not complaints. It's a trope for a reason and I'm personally tired of it.
To drive this point home: the dev has a patreon. Good faith criticisms would be there. Not here. Where the dev is obviously not participating. This is like calling Pizza Hut to whine about McDonalds messing up your order.

They don't. They are as valid as praises of another person, who is also not paying for the game.
To be fair, I supported this game for a short while on patreon and stated my opinion regarding game in game's discord channel - dev kicked me from the channel. What about this case?

It's basically a meme at this point. A trope. A repeating pattern of behavior that is so obnoxious the Simpsons called it out 25 years ago. It's a toxic trait of entitlement that the folks playing the game with no investment have. Like the Dev *owes* them. When they havent even bought the Dev a cup of coffee.
It's moot because the Dev isnt here reading it. The Dev is paying attention to their paying customers. As any good business does. No business says 'Hey, that shoplifter has a lot of good ideas, I should value their input."

Yea, that's crap too. Dumping on people for lodging honest complaints definitely falls into the "driveling shouting matches" category in my book. I guess since I've been coming here since late 2016 when the vibe was totally different and every thread was people actually talking about the games, not the same bullcrap every thread is loaded up with these days it gets annoying and I have to call it out once in while, no matter which side the derailment is coming from. But it's usually the ones I listed that clog up every thread.

Wait a bit. So your reasoning is. If you are not paying for the game - dev doesn't owe you anything. And even if you do pay - well maybe he doesn't care and your opinion shouldn't matter to the dev ("artist"). Based on this reasoning - any kind of commentary on any game on here is useless.
For big game companies - what matters is not one person opinion - it's opinion of big group of people. Bethesda may not care about MY opinion of them, but they sure cared about collective opinion, when they released Fallout76 and shitstorm started. CDPR didn't care about MY opinion when they released CP2077, but they sure had to react as well as reviews started pouring in.
And for porn visual novels we are not talking about big game company. It usually one person making it or small team of people. Positive opinion regarding the game on F95 may mean a lot for their support in patreon or any other tool they are using (as F95 provides links to those)
In no way criticism of the dev is moot (when using your reasoning) - it only means that dev doesn't care about any criticism on this forum. Criticism that dev is providing very small updates is valid. It doesn't become suddenly ok, even if he is making same small updates for several years now.
Moot criticism would be if I would give it 1 star review, because it doesn't have NTR
