To everybody talking shit- How many games have you all developed? How often are your updates coming out? Do you happen to work a full time job besides developing a game? How much money have you personally contributed to the development of this or any game? Just curious.
I always roll my eye when I see this sort of comment. "Oh, you're not paying for the game; therefore, you have no real right to complain or criticize." It's wrong and narrow-minded. People should criticize here where it's due, and that criticism, even if harsh or poorly worded, should be valuable to any well-meaning developer. I'll explain why.
What is F95zone, exactly? Yes, it's pirate site at it's core--but because it's become so popular and visited so often, it's become much, much more. In essence, it's free advertising space for the devs. If I were to make an adult game, I'd put it on F95zone immediately. Why? Because F95zone would be one of the best places to spread awareness of my games and garner a following. I'd bet F95zone could even charge devs to host their games on this site, and it would be worth it in the long run. Advertising usually costs a ton of money, but here devs get free advertising.
"But whaaa! You're just gonna give your game away for freeeezies! You can't make money that way, idiot!" you might say. Sure, but that's the nature of creating porn these days--a ton of it is already free. You can't lock your product behind a paywall in a world overflowing with free porn and hope to make money that way; most people will just go to wherever it's free.
So how can devs of adult games hope to accrue patrons and their money in a world of free porn? It's simple: they need to get awareness of their games out to as many people as possible (which F95zone accomplishes; some of the games here have millions of views, etc.), and from those many people who view and sample the games, the devs are competing for the small percentage of people who can and are willing to pay.
Because of this inherent setup, F95zone is invaluable--and, by extension, all of the players who play the game for free and leave reviews, even if those reviews are harsh and negative. Why? Because if a game isn't worth playing for free (as is generally implied when any game has a ton of frustrated comments/reviews), you can be damn well sure it isn't going to be worth paying for.
Moreover, F95zone and harsh reviews protect the buyer. Devs are not always victims, even though their games are being played for free! Remember, they are asking for money for unfinished products, and there is no system in place to protect patrons' money once spent.
And my opinion of this game? The dev has #fuckarounditis. He has a little over 400 patrons, and that surely brings in a tidy little sum--just enough to encourage him to plod along with the bare minimum. Just another case of wasted talent. The game has been in development for five years or so and has little to show for it. Yeah, maybe he works a full time job or whatever, but my gut instinct says that after five years' time, any dev who actually cared about his or her product would have accomplished much more, despite a busy schedule.
