It's been a while so I thought I'd answer that last question best I can.
In short, there's no news yet, but I think it's coming up soon.
As often, the dev seems to have wanted to do too many different scenes, options or variations and it often ends up making things difficult or harder to manage when trying to do too many things at the same time.

But it's almost there I think. Not too long to go...

Well the dev never set that date, it was just a guesstimate.
Given where we are, I'd now say it might be optimistic.
