I was hoping the ship may right itself over time, and it may still. I would say though, I don't think anyone should blow their "great idea" on their first game. Nobody really makes their magnum opus in any art field, right out the gate. I'll take another look if/when the "new" content catches up to where it left off previously.

Titties on the hips, c'mon dude.

Haven't played the remake yet, but oddly enough this is one of the few games on this website that I don't mind a remake because everything could have been fleshed out much more toroughly without rushing. Also let's keep it a single game this time and not 2 different ones alright ?

Original game non Ai .jpg Ai remake .jpg

Ai remake images look faded and blurry in comparison to original, wether it's the filter or what. The new images are not crisp and a little annoying to look at since they do have a blur to them. The originals do have a more natural tone in my opinion.

Not a fan of this remake, should have just gone on and made more content instead. Now who knows when the story will continue, if it actually does.

I played the Remake first and found it technically very good, but the story doesn't say much, so I decided to play the normal version.

When playing the normal version, I don't understand the reason for the Remake. I even found the visuals of the original better, but some changes in the story of the Remake were better. However, it's not justified.

But when playing the original game, I thought it would be more complete, with more story, but I found it with very little content, and it doesn't help that the MC is an idiot. In this VN, the choices don't even make much sense, as the flow always follows the same pattern. If you combine the technical capability of this DEV with a good writer, something extraordinary could come out, but unfortunately, that's not the case.

I post the whole message since it's quite funny:

This is a message from the team:
We would like to clarify some aspects regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in our project. The eyes in our game are not made with AI, although they may appear lifeless in the base Daz. Many other games that have "alive" eyes mostly achieve this in post-production or with expensive and rare assets.
We use AI as a helpful tool for things that would take a long time to fix. We know that some renders are not great, like the ones Monetka showed, but the worse the quality of the original render, the worse it looks. Look at relatively new renders, for example.
We don't use AI instead of Daz, nor do we make an AI-based game. It's only used alongside Photoshop and other tools as a post-production resource. It's not a miracle worker, but in many scenes, it makes hair and skin look less plastic, like in this Amber render. Something that would take a long time to re-render or retouch in Photoshop.
Someone said that Episode 2 is made with AI. That's not true. Most of the chapter is previously created content, apart from Arlette's story, which was made entirely on a new computer.
We hope this clarification helps to better understand our creative process and the use of AI in our project.

This a message from me:
It's hilarious how some people think they're so smart, pointing out flaws like they've got some kind of "technical eye" that can spot the difference between Daz modeling mistakes and AI screw-ups. These guys must have spent so much time jerking off to virtual porn that they've become self-proclaimed art critics who can tell which program was used just by looking at it. Maybe all that time spent with their hands down their pants has clouded their judgment and made it hard for them to see straight.
Yeah, AI has helped me add some texture and volume to the characters' skin, but it hasn't touched the eyes, nails, or the shape of their fingers. And the butts? Give me a break. I wish AI could magically make the perfect ass for me. In fact, I'd love for these geniuses to give me a prompt that I can just copy and paste to create the entire visual novel in 2 days.
The nerve of these people to call out these supposed "flaws" is just plain insulting. They have no idea how much I've had to learn and the work I've put in to create a unique hybrid style that only my team knows how to pull off. And guess what? I don't owe anyone an explanation. But hey, if these experts think they're so clever, maybe they can give me a prompt to feed an AI that'll spit out the DAZ DUF for me. That way, I can stop wasting my time learning Spotlight and messing around with Ghost Lights.
And seriously, the whole Chapter 2 made by AI? What a joke. I'd like to see these guys try to make an AI fan-remake using whatever prompts they pull out of their ass. Maybe then they can try to teach me a thing or two. Apparently, being a chronic masturbator makes you an expert in Daz and AI these days.
Here's a piece of advice: "When a wise man points at the moon, the idiot looks at the finger." End of story.
All I can say is that Denial and Anger are the first 2 stages of grief. Yukana knows she fucked this up bad and she's taking it out on the fans former fans of the project. The high quality static renders were the one thing that kept people interested in this otherwise awful VN and then she ruined it by deferring to shitty AI for the post work instead of doing it herself. Lazy, sloppy, and no one to blame but herself.

I mean.. If we look at Where it all Began or Summer's Gone, those are really good reworks I can tell ya, If you look at old versions difference is night and day, yes whole progression going at snails pace but we have finished reworks and Oceanlab continue working on new episodes. But this?.. sorry I thought dev will do a similar rework. I was so wrong.
Except for "Summers Gone" the dev ripped out content with the remakes and changes some of the story elements to keep their music when other dev's whose games are more popular actually went and found more music instead. Pathetic when a dev starts backtracking on where the game content was during their "remake".

EDIT: By the way, I didn't think we were supposed to shill some other dev's work in the thread for a different game. So wipe the shit off your nose from OL's ass, and go to those game threads to drink the koolaid and jack off with all the others there.

Anyone who knows me knows that I think SG/WIAB is overrated garbage for a number of reasons, but the constant reworks (and the dumb decision to work on two titles concurrently) are the reasons why SG simps are still waiting for the MC to wet his dick even after 5 years of development.

Something these devs need to understand... people. hate. reworks. It is infinitely better to keep forward progress and finish a project. If the dev improves over the course of the project then that's FANTASTIC! I love it when devs put the things they learned into practice... but apply that to future content. Forward progress. And also, devs should keep their projects shorter if their skill improves or their asset library grows. Lengthy ambitious VNs that take years to produce inevitably mean that early chapters will look more outdated as time goes on, and going back to rework those earlier chapters with newer assets will just make the project take longer to finish.

Qori gaming seems to be hell bent on doing everything the exact wrong way instead of fixing the glaring problems and capitalizing the on the one thing it did right... the static renders. However instead, they even managed to fuck that up by needlessly adding AI filters and plunging the gorgeous renders into the uncanny valley.

Well... maybe Qori will learn something from this... Or maybe they'll give up entirely. I don't give a fuck what they do anymore. If they were smart, they'd consider why they lost the trust of the audience, apologize for this AI remake, scrap it, then get back to work on finishing Season 2 the way they were doing before... Forward progress... and learn how to fucking animate instead of fucking around with AI.

Dude, I understand your point and I agree. But the real culprits are not the developers, but those who finance them. People accept these ramakes and continue paying. And the longer it takes to evolve the story, the more the developers win. Why do you think these remakes are becoming more and more common?
I believe that making games....
Let me say something first, that utopia of donating money to someone to make art, do what they like (in this case games), is in the past, today it is purely business (with rare exceptions), you pay, the developer posts an update (theoretically).
Returning to the subject, making games today is like any other commercial segment. You set up your business (in this case, games), but keep an eye on your neighbor's business, and if your neighbor created something that made more money and with less costs (in this case, remakes), you will definitely want to do the same.
I personally stopped supporting this type of content a long time ago.
Developers always start well, with regular updates, but after gaining the trust of supporters, illnesses begin, family problems, employment problems...
Remake is just what's hot right now.

You're right, especially when Steam is favored over the supporters.

Well I liked the changes to the characters...and I don't get the whole AI shit show that is being spread in the forms as it isn't a huge issue for me. I find the characters and city scenes look more life like with this remake. And the added story details to parts of character story that was lacking is much better now.

Though, I'm not a fan of the super bright white menu background...as it would be good if there was a dark mode choice offered. And with this title's overlay game menu structure is complied differently from other Ren'Py titles, due to the custom game menu setup used. (Normally adding an overlay folder in a gui folder with a custom game menu image would override the default...but not so with this project, so I'm forced to endure the blinding effect from looking at the game menu on my huge TV screen.) Not a huge deal, but it would be great if it was toned down a bit.

I also noticed this title has a in-game walk through now, but this release is missing the a wt.rpyc file needed (note...using the URM tool can enable that feature, but without that file it's useless...as shown in the images below).

And finally I put together a few minor adjustments (mods and custom text box in one folder) that can improve your game play with this title.
  • Changed the default textbox with a custom bottom shaded version (more visually pleasing).
  • Included 0x52_URM tool which can be used to show what is behind some of the story choices (points, etc. A small box will appear at the top let hand corner of your screen whenever a choice or requirement check happens. Just expand and review the contents.)
  • Added a quick menu hiding mod, by pressing the letter Q...it will hide or display that annoying in game feature.
Install: Extract and merge the game folder with this titles game folder.

Enjoy.

This image below is displaying the custom bottom shaded textbox, along with the a mod that hides the quick menu...which for me cleans up the dialog area nicely.

I am at the same stage. I have no desire to play a remake, and as soon as I see the tag, I stop following the project—not just on F95, but also on patreon if I am donating.

Most remakes simply indicate that the creator has run out of ideas or lost interest. Ecchi Sensi is one of the best instances of this

The toxic level on this thread is way up there recently... irony is not lost on me that 99% of the people raging probably never paid a cent to the development. I'm not going to pretend I'm a huge fan of the remake but seriously if you play the original and then the remake for free and then still feel the need to come and rage with entitlement on a pirate forum you might have some issues. Just take a deep breath, let it go and play a game more to your liking..... Its for your own good if it gets you that angry. ;)

My main problem with this game was that the title was a little too accurate. I had a hard time liking any of the characters, let alone loving them. Are they still just as toxic, or has the remake at least given us a few characters that aren't horrible?
