The AI was a mistake from the beginning, so it should definitely go back to the 3D renders. I think the question is whether the dev is going to fall back into "reworking" all of the scenes that were ruined by AI or whether she's going to keep progress moving forward. I think she should just put the AI chapters out of her mind and focus on future chapters only because the reworks are just as bad as AI, imo.

On the subject of Animations, to be brutaly honest, those kind of needed work before all of this AI business to begin with. the reverse loop and unnatural breast movement in the Amber scene (pre-AI) comes to mind. Loop reverse never looks good. Bodies don't move like that.

There are of things that other devs are doing these days with flesh physics, clothing and hair behavior, and custom animating that makes really cool, near-realistic scenes but the AI stuff basically distracted the dev from learning and progressing toward any of those techniques. AI doesn't play nice with animating unless you're trying to get some kind of surrealist product which is not what I think the dev wants with this VN. Something will always seem off, and I think the dev started to realize that.

So yeah, get rid of the AI. Let it die in a fire. Keep learning how to improve high-quality still renders and animations. Talk to other devs, build resources and keep learning. Don't get tempted to rework shit but apply new techniques to current and future content. That's the best path forward, imo.

If she still has the pre-AI filtered renders, it wouldn't be much work to update the game

If that's the case, then that would be awesome... assuming her workflow didn't change at all apart from slapping an AI filter on the renders.

I do agree with everyone saying the AI filter has to go.

The one thing this game always had above the rest was phenomenal renders but even that got taken from us. As for animations a lot of big games manage without them if they require too much work or just don't add enough value.

Now the important question is this game actually still worth pursuing? With all the remakes and time spent I can't imagine this game has been lucrative at all and it already has a pretty tarnished reputation that will take ages to fix with everything from the original writing to the renders of the remake we got now.
At this point it might have just been better to abandon this game and start completely fresh on a new title and just use whatever she learned from this endeavour going forward.

But I do gotta give her credit for sticking with it as long as she has done with what looks like a very stacked deck against her.
Most devs on the site would have dropped their game ages ago.

I feel like it is definitely still worth pursuing. I know that a lot of people here are not fans of the A.I filter but even with it I would say this game still looks better than 50 to 60% of the games on this forum. All the women in the game are very hot. I would play it for Isabella or Amber alone. And the remake actually improved the story a lot. In my opinion it's a lot more enjoyable and easy to follow. I think what she needs to do now is not over complicate things and try to have a consistent release schedule.

Playing "Hard To Love" is always a delight, it is undoubtedly perfect, everything the dev shows in the game is conveyed. In the sad parts, I can feel the sadness that the MC suffers due to the sudden and unexpected departure of Antonella and not to mention the sexy moments with all the girls, which are perfect.

Hi everyone...
I hope you all had nice holidays. I spent mine with my kitties and my puppy. Thank you so much for downloading the latest update and for all your feedback and opinions. After reading through everything, I've made some important decisions.
Let me share the big news!
First, I'm going back to full 3D (just Daz3D), dropping the AI + Daz3D blending. Your feedback, combined with the new solutions I found, really helped me make this decision.
About the technical improvements - you'll notice I've attached several PNG images of the new main menu. Let me break down what you're seeing:
  • Pure Daz3D with Photoshop clipping fixes and Lightroom adjustments
  • Upscaled textures to 8K (used AI just for this)
  • Combined with original textures
  • AI-assisted JPEG compression and DDS error removal
  • Added normal maps and bump maps
  • New optimized render settings (finally found the sweet spot!)
Speaking of story progress, remember how I mentioned Chapters 1-4 are Act 1? Well, all these new images you're seeing are part of Act 2's story!
Oh! I discovered something amazing - Obsidian! You wouldn't believe how helpful it's been for organizing ideas and connecting all those scattered notes from various Word docs, Excel sheets, and random papers around my house. I've included the "neural" network view of what I've done - each dot represents a connected element. It might not make sense to you, but I wanted to share anyway!
About character development:
  • I noticed your comments about some good AI effects, like Madison's improvements. So I've tried to achieve better shaping naturally, making her slightly different from her pre-remake version
  • All female characters got new skin textures, including Aoi and Aya (non-LIs returning in Act 2). Aya's got a new hairstyle too!
  • Elizabeth's aging effects are now achieved without AI - something I thought impossible before! Yes, she looks worn and sad now, but don't worry - she'll have a glow-up in Act 2
  • Those who played before the remake might remember Kitsune - she's coming back in Act 2
For Episode 5, as promised, Elizabeth will be the main LI (both present and past versions). Nanami, Amber (present and past), and Paz will be part of the subplot. I'm really excited about including those "past" images, like we did with Nanami's conversations with MC - seeing the memories instead of just reading about them makes everything more impactful, don't you think?
I'll start converting the draft into something more concrete and begin rendering soon.
Kisses to everyone and thank you for your support

Using AI in a segment where you're already good I think is a very questionable decision to begin with. The only possible reason I see for this approach is so that the characters and environments don't have that distinctive “DAZ style”, which would make the visuals more unique. But, as practice has shown, it is almost impossible to maintain a single clear style after AI processing (at least, for now).
So, I glad the dev decided to drop the AI - her artstyle is really nice.

When I play, I feel that the plot of the bottom life in Japan is deeply exciting and extraordinary. on the contrary, the story back in the rich harem is slightly mediocre.
It wasn't until I saw that the author's page was a Japanese female indie producer that it dawned on me.
Extraordinary art comes from the lives of ordinary people. salute to every mortal. salute to YUKANA. (y)
