Best nsfw game I've played yet! Great dialogue, great h-scenes, great characters. I also appreciate Runey's attention to the game-side of the experience. Things are never grindy and it feels fun at all points!

Perfect game all around and I can't wait for more updates!

    Great game to play :).
I have been enjoying playing this game for quite some time and look forward to seeing it grow in the future.
Thankyou for all the hard work in making it.
Please keep up the hard work and don't go listen to anyone complaining about anything in the game, if they find a bug, they should report it, not complain about it.

    Awesome.
    Whats bad:
    • No pregnancy\birth.
    Whats good:
    • HS provides nice graphics, even though with some restrictions.
    • Its has long playtime,
    • Not so much grind.
    • Kinda sandbox.
    • Komfy.
Very pleasant game which does not push player by any means.
Also much of content(more than has many other).
Frequent updates(many others games from concurrents are dropped already).
Very responsible controls(seriously, some games(especially Unity3d\RPGM) are damn slow).

PS: Since the MAP were added, i hope Author will add new locations, may be properties...
PPS: Awaiting for new girl(trap\robot is fine too), i mean we still have one room empty.

Harem Hotel is a wonderful game that has developed from a simple concept with basic archetypes allowing for kink content, to a narrative full of well rounded characters, each with their own rich lives and interactions. As a polyamorous person IRL, despite the fact that only Maria ever seems interested in having relations outside of MC, I find the interconnected community of all the Harem members to feel genuine to real polycules I know and have been a part of.

    On the characters:

Having played this game from early versions and just replayed the full game recently, the evolution of the girls has been a breath of fresh air, and I cannot fathom how any of the reviews saying that these girls don't behave like real people can think that.

From the trauma of oppression, seen in the elves, to the isolation of Androids experience, there are people I know in real life who map onto these characters incredibly well. Maria's crisis of self, when they realize that they've been masking around society, trying to be who she thought people wanted her to be, rather than herself, is an experience I have personally, and which most of the people in my life can relate to, as many of us are neurodivergent. And when she finds out about her parentage, I couldn't help but think to my friends' descriptions of their experiences. Both those of mixed heritage, and those of forgotten heritage, who were raised disconnected from their cultural identities, and found themselves needing to seek that community. Even Android, who is literally not a biological being, has relatable experiences, in her isolation due to feeling unique, in her fear of how society will view her due to biological essentialism, and in her need to find friendship in others, but not knowing well how to relate to them, because she lacks their social understanding. I could go on, and likely will elsewhere about each individual girl, but yeah, I can't help but find these girls as no longer being basic archetypes, like the cute one, the yandere, the tsundere, etc, and are now full characters for whom those archetypes are merely single facets of a broader personality.

    The world:

While the game can get infodumpy at times, it's natural as this is a fantasy world that needs to explain its setting history and lore to us. More recently, I appreciate how Runey has been able to integrate that into the story better, giving us characters who care about this or that facet of it, and needing an outlet to share that with others, or finding a reason for a character to have need to learn it. Maria learining about the Tindi, Autumn learning about the Seldarine, the battle of perspectives in the first trip to the Museum, as Maria, Lin, and Autumn give their knowledge of the events and people we learn about therein. All of this is much more engaging that people are giving it credit for, especially when you consider the most famous fantasy novel of all time literally starts by giving us the entire family tree of a character who only matters because they found a fucking ring and give it to their "nephew".

Whats more, I personally love the way Runey has tied all of this world building into political commentary, highlighting inequality, giving us characters who feel a need to be involved in and act on their views. Some reviews I read find the political messaging of this game to be unsubtle, and to an extent, it is. But as the saying goes, I know authors who use subtext and they're all cowards. Sometimes a message doesn't need subtlety. But also, in a recent Lin event, two humans who have never seen an elf call her "articulate" and want to "touch her ears". And sure, anyone can see how that would make a person uncomfortable, but have you ever been in public and had a middle aged white woman who you don't know, walk up to you and ask to touch your hair? Because that's a real thing that my indigenous, black, and ginger friends deal with in our society, and complain about, as a strange violation of bodily autonomy and consent that way too many people think is normal. Being able to see your struggles mirrored in art, even porn, is good, actually.

    The Porn:

Despite the heavy message, the deep characters whose stories can be depressing at times, the sexual content of the game still feels good, genuine even. The kink community is actually a safe space for a lot of people, both those of marginalized identities, and those who survived abuse, neglect, or other trauma. So this game allowing its characters to explore their sexualities through their safe relationship with the MC feels genuine, and for me, heightens the sexual arousal, because nothing is more hot than consent, and I say that as someone who has a CNC kink, like Kali, but in MC's role.

In many ways, the fact that this game has characters who I can believe and relate to, and a message and lore that runs deep and hits on real struggles, makes the porn side of it better. My experience with sex and sexuality can't be removed from my experience with trauma, with neurodivergence, with my identity being politicized. HH allows me, more than most games, to self insert. And I'm not even a man. I relate more to this game and its characters than I do to smaller more contained stories that don't make room for expansive identities outside of the relationship with the MC. And yet, many games with larger casts also fail this test, instead making the characters feel increasingly shallow, as they all essentially only exist for the MC's pleasure. Harem Hotel does a good job of creating characters who feel like they have lives outside of their sexual life with MC, and they're more attractive for it.

    The Art:

I have always appreciated HH for the art. I know it's all made with illusion programs, thus giving Runey fewer tools to make the characters unique, but Runey has always still found a way to make the girls feel different from other games using the same software for character creation.

I do recognize that Runey has in many ways reached the limits of the technology, but I don't fault them for it, rather I appreciate how it still feels mostly unique and how the characters feel different. Sure, Daz might give more tools, but at the end of the day, it's just a more modular character designer, and plenty of Daz users can't create truly unique looks with it either. So I do appreciate how Runey has made the best of what they've got.

    Criticism:

I know Runey has a lot on their plate, and this game has gotten very large. It's up to the members of the community who are giving feedback to help with this, but there are still a few inconsistencies that need addressing.

Lin describes having spent time with the Sand Elf chieftain when she mentions her initially, that the chieftain had promised they'd take Lin back to their community with them if they needed to when the uprising was over. However one of the next story bits with Lin has her retell this story with a flashback that makes it seem like a single chance meeting and they never run into one another again. These inconsistencies sometimes take us out of the game, but they can be addressed and tweaked over time, the game is still in development.

Elf Memory is a somewhat nebulous incosistency that I think could be solved pretty easily. For those who don't know, memory is actually heavily effected by ones psychology. Trauma can cause memories not to be written, can cause written memory to be forgotten or changed. Context from the future can color past memories to change your interpretation. Lin not remembering her parents well, but not being able to forget the sister who she credits with saving her makes sense in this context, but without it, feels inconsistent. Introducing this concept shouldn't be hard, it could even be a throwaway line from Maria, who studied psychology, but would definitely help to allow elves to have spotty memories, and actually create another element of their oppression. They are a species that shouldn't forget, but they do, because of what slavery is doing to them. That has power.

This is a little thing, but I say, don't be afraid to call a spade a spade. Kate is autistic. From an abled perspective it might seem like a good idea to leave it vague, as you don't want to fetishize disability, but that is better done by fleshing a character out, which over her 8 story interactions and the riddles thus far, she has been. A reality of ableism in our society is that people have a problem seeing autistic people as sexual beings, they often childize them, and that is really a problem. So while this game is making the messages it is, it would actually do well to call these spades for what they are. Let her be autistic. Let Maria, Kali, Ashley, and Hana discover their own neurodivergence, because I promise, as a neurodivergent person who finds community with other neurodivergent people, all of them are. Let all of them find solidarity with Android, who due to her having sapience, but being a machine without the neural pathing of a human, nor the social upbringing, what we normally call nurture, not the ability to relate well to the complex social constructs we have to navigate in society, would find herself feeling similar to Kali, Ashley, and Maria especially, through different aspects of their life. In a way, Ashley being the one to talk to her when she was depressed did this, in a way the fact that Kali is seen as her psychiatrist does this, in a way, Maria was literally trying to teach her how to mask in the bar. All that's needed is a little acknowledgement of what all this is to make it feel more inclusive than it already does from my perspective.

A little more nuance. Lin and Nia, in particular, but also Maria, Vanessa, and Sylvia, need to be given the opportunity to develop more specific ideological stances. Lin's current pacifism is very simplistic, and naive, and has the potential to lead to another disaster, like the one with the High Elf Queen. The Lin we had to help spark hope in again should be more receptive to criticism from people like Nia and Silvia on this. Nia too needs a little more nuance though. There have been hints that she knows full well that she's only practicing harm reduction right now, but the interaction with Vanessa, and the way she talks to Lin and MC sometimes, it makes her come off as thinking of herself as being more effective at changing things than she has previously acknowledged. I absolutely think that her belief of "we live in a system that is actively violent toward us, and thus my violence is self defense" is valid and should be held and shown in the game, but it needs nuance, and it needs to make room for tactics that build community without that violence being the center. Lin and Nia can have different approaches without opposition, because what they're working toward is going to need way more cooks and supply line workers and builders than it is going to need fighters. Lin can do what she needs without inciting violence, while allowing for planning from people like Nia to protect what people like Lin are doing from the inevitable violence of the state.

    Conclusion:

This game is amazing, it has come so far, and I know it still has a lot of places it can go. I personally can't wait to see how this game continues, what characters we'll meet, and how the ones we already know will interact with the changes we are seeing happen.

The biggest weakness of Harem Hotel is its art, which looks quite dated in 2022. Pretty much every other aspect of the game is good, from the setting, to the characters, to the writing.

Currently (v0.16) there is a tonne of content to get involved with and Runey has always been a reliable developer, so I highly recommend giving the game a try.

This is one of the games I watch religiously for updates.

The story is good, with each character (even a lot of the minor ones) having pretty well developed backstories and personalities. The overall story/setting is also well done, with various characters stories crossing or merging together at points.

I also like that there's no time constraints, you can advance largely at your own pace w/o fear of really missing anything.

TL/DR: The finest sandbox game in the business. It is a cute S.O.L. harem builder with some mildly dark cultural undertones. Manages to be somewhat dramatic and interesting despite its tame demeanor. Allows for a very vanilla approach to some heavier kinks (BDSM / Exhibitionism) that are mild enough to appeal to vanilla enthusiasts but also gives the game a little extra oomph.

+ Diverse cast of female characters with lots of different vibes / narratives.
+ Sandbox is super-saturated with content!
+ Building up stats feels very rewarding.
+The new explore feature could help build some interesting narratives.
+The sister's / twin content is very hot.
+Diverse suite of female body types to enjoy.
+The "lust" system and resulting events is super hot.
+ A cornucopia of various scene content.
    + Tangible character development arcs.
    + Very organic free-play style.
    + MC feels powerful.
+ Great content for people who like the combination of Maledom/Femsub & praise kink.

    Neutrals / Minor gripes.
    - There is only so much one can do to make a Honey Select male character model look good. They are all so bad. MC looks good within the context of Honey Select , but its a rough platform for male characters
    - There wasn't a clear way to be able to determine what the perks on the gals does.
-Animations are a bit clippy- but they are still very erotic and the positions are fun.

    Negatives
    - I really, really disliked that the best way to get ahead of the economy in the early game is to sell nudes of your LI to random buyers. It'd be nicer if there was another more wholesome way to make some early game cash.

0.16 added some city content that can triage this issue- but it isn't obvious. Maybe Ellen's "how do I make money" option should mention looking for a job in the city as well as the pin-ups when you ask her about it.
    - Would be nice to be able to spend cash on more things. You run out of things to buy around mid-way through the game loop. Maybe some more cosmetics. Just to feel cool.

I have been following this game since 10.0 and I must say the writing, the characters are amazing. The sex scenes are okay, they are passable. I highly recommend Harem Hotel. Some of the characters are a little cliché, but refreshingly so. The game isn't really that grindy, if at all. There are ways to get cash other than the 5 you get from guests, you can also use cheats if you feel it is needed. And isn't really hidden behind a patron wall. Definitely give this game a try!

Probably my favorite game on this website or any other website with porn games on them. I think I've been playing it since at least version 1.10, and it hasn't stopped getting better ever since.

The graphics are great, different from the usual ones I see when it comes to 3D games. The story is amazing, but the best part is obviously the characters. Characters matter the most in games like this, so it should be only natural, but some of you would be surprised at how many games have unlikeable characters.

And I'm not joking when I say I love every character (among the ones in the hotel of course) and ever since (spoilers!) we've learned the android can take control of other androids, I've been thinking of taking over the world lmao. (You don't need to be scared of losing me if you help defeat my own mortality with the help of technology, my dear robot friend!)

They're all likable in their own way. Naturally, I have preferences, but I still like all of them. Usually, I'm more attracted to older women, milfs you know, so that's also the type I like best in porn games. Even if I don't have anything against petite bodies, I still prefer women with curves and huge tits. However, Lin is actually my favorite character! It's safe to say that I personally think she beats all the other characters in every field except maybe sex appeal and 'sexiness', but that's subjective.

Anyway, props to the dev, I love this game.

Dev has gotten consumed by his storyline. After a certain point, I just gave up. Please get back to the pr0n, it was amazing before devolving into this insanely detailed revolution storyline I couldn't give less of a fuck about.

Harem Hotel was a treat. Stories were awesome and the girls had a ton of depth. Very impressed with the amount of work that it took to create this game. I have over 15 hours into the game and it feels like i am not even close to being done. My favorite character is probably Kali followed by Lin. Each girls personality is unique and fun. Some stories are sad and others funny.
The art is good, not great. Lots of animations though makes up for it.
If you are thinking about trying it out, just do it.

Surreal garbage, which lacks any logic, but there is a terrible image quality and there is nothing to give immersion in this game, people in reality simply do not communicate in the same way shown in this visual novel.

There's a reason this game is almost 5 stars, its literally perfect. The amount of characters and animations there are with said characters will literally ruin every single porn game out there for me now. This game is full of content and ways to satisfy your fantasies, if youre reading this I cant recommend the game enough. THIS IS .15 and i'm over 120 days and still haven't finished any of the content with the main girls. That's with a walkthrough too. Anyway I figured id sing my praises to the dev of this game and thank them for blessing me with this masterpiece.

Excellent game whit so much content . This games is one of the best I have played since it is a 2017.
    - So much content in this game that's just awesome
    - Diversified harem whit different girls that's a +++
the only thing that I think that they should optimize its adding new graphical up to todays machine , 5 years old graphics it start to be a bit old

Runey did an awesome job. The story is really good. I love all the characters, all of them have their own personality and that's what make it a good game.
I'll be honest, in the beginning I tried the game for the sex, but end up falling in love with the story. Of course, the bonus sex game is totally great.

I just wish I could cook something nice to Lin for a change :)

PS I didn't finish the game yet.

Very good for version 0.15... A lot of content. A LOT!
Nice girls with background story, harem - what else you need.
Models quite a bit old in technical view but still good enough.
And the best measurement of game - is a time spent on it.
I really want to give a money for it ))

Edit: I was just trying to write a funny review. But the dev wants me to be serious. Some paragraphs have been edited, but the gist doesn't change that much.

Edit2: When I played, it was v0.15.1. I noticed that there's an explore feature now. Feel free to ignore the sandbox part if you want, the rest of my review remains. I also noticed that my Funny Edit has been removed by mod, probably because it contains personal things about the dev. I removed that part.

    Spoilers in this review.

I was looking forward to a good story. It doesn't have to be outstanding. Just good. and I got disappointed. Long story short, it's not as impressive as those 5-star reviews described.
I respect everything, including those things about religion or slavery, as long as the dev can control the pace. But sadly, it failed. I have to keep myself focused by watching the lewd scene once in a while. Otherwise, I might just go to bed and sleep. The story is like when you're 16 and trying to write something epic after watching some profound anime series. I feel tricked because the review said the story is awesome. If you ask me now, I'll say this game is like the 5-star restaurant on Google Maps.

    The Story:
I'm not asking the dev to be in control of every detail or something, it's nearly impossible to do that. I just wish the story could be more engaging.

The MC in the beginning is like he's in a coma for hundred of years and not knowing what happened in the opposite side of world. It's really a bad way to let your viewers understand the situation. You can say the game was too early or something. But Autumn? I didn't know Autumn was in a coma with MC.

Later on, there are more girls. More girls equal to more stories. It's fine, for real. I really don't hate it.

After Lin's level is around 30, you'll realize that the dev probably became enlightened by some profound AVN and is trying to do the same by himself. Once again, it failed.

The dev is trying to portray something, but it only makes me feel stupid. I can see the dev is trying, but it's just not enough. I knew the update would be slow as fuck when the story goes dark because the inconsistencies are gonna fuck the dev up. You can also say the thing the dev is trying to write is too big to control, or whatever you like. But it only gets worse since it's not well-considered in the beginning. The only solution to make it "seem" back on track again is by making some weird plot twists. And guess what? It did happen, and it's so convenient to do that. I knew Maria would be a half-elf when she said she was an orphan. It literally became a game for me. by seeing how out of control it can be.

Making things darker isn't the problem. The problem is that it genuinely sucks. Ashley suddenly has an elf maid when she is a child, yet she still decided to be a dick to Lin and show unfamiliarity to elves at the beginning of the game. Another thing is Lin forget her parents' name but later there is another elf said something like this to Jin: "But you're an elf, you should be good in memory!!" I know she said it was because of the drug. But what about Lin? The dev told me that elves don't remember everything when they're nearly toddlers. Really? So why Lin has such strong emotions to her sister? She's slightly older? In the early game, she said, "I was so young back then, I barely remember." (By the way, after this, she perfectly described details about herself and her sister.) She also has the ability to remember activities while their parents were still living, including picking flowers, climbing trees, eating, and dancing, but the names are forgotten?
It's a miracle that she can find her sister after 300 years, even though she was young and barely remembers anything. And Jin can perfectly describe things after she was captured, even though she's still under the drug's effects. Are you seriously going to tell me that she has memory loss but is able to say things like "industrial revolution" including details that she was sent to Syl'anar's capital? I don't even have to be too serious to spot this kind of mistake. I wonder what would happen if I were serious?

I really can go on and on if you want me to.

I won't talk about the details of the slavery story line here. If you're curious, go play the game. But I have to tell you, to be honest, I treat it like a sitcom. Just because the topic is dark doesn't mean the story got any better. I couldn't see anything impressive. This is a big part of the game, and the dev is clearly having fun with it. Have fun, dev.

By the way, some of the conversation goes like this:

MC: Do you like being a slave?
    Lin: No.

Lin: My sister and I separated 300 years ago.
MC's thoughts: She hasn't learned how to cook in 300 years?

Autumn: WHAT!? The MC OWNS you?
Lin: Yeah. That's how it works.

This kind of cringe conversation turns me off. I find it difficult for me to immerse myself in it every time it happens. When I saw that, I was like, "Common sense doesn't exist in this world?" Alright, maybe I'm too picky here.

    The game/story pace:
The game pace goes from "Go to their room to trigger new events." to "Go to every girl's room, get one of the girls' level up to 15, and buy something for them to trigger only one event." This kind of requirement happens more and more when you're in the late game. What if I don't like one of the girls? The events are forced and inevitable. My mind goes blank whenever I see "I should raise someone's friendship." Now that I think about it, maybe this is the real reason why I think it is really not a good game. There is still one room under development after 4 years. Why throw the early-game pace away?

If the dev keeps the lighthearted story pace, I probably won't rate it low. because I don't have to think. For example, I won't be too serious about Pokemon's story. I just want to see if Ash will win and how the Pokemon will fight. But this game turned from how to fuck'em all to how to fuck the player's brain. Note that if you want to progress the story line, you're forced to watch those poorly considered stories. Half of them are not even story-related. But yeah, you have to wait another 2 days to trigger the next event.

    The game:
One person told me this is a sandbox game. A sandbox game gives the player freedom of movement and progression in the game's world. And what can you do in this game? You can do nothing other than fuck the girls. You can't even go out freely. When you click the door, it just says "Mail Box." And the hotel management stopped like 3 years ago. And please, if the only comeback is that this is a sandbox game, that shows how weak the story is.

    Others:
The dialogue performance is weak for me. I'm not talking about the conversation I mentioned. The overall performance is just not good. The weak dialogue can be fixed by camera movement, but the dev only put a little effort into camera movement during dialogues. Sometimes you can see the same camera angle the whole time when the characters are having a long conversation, unless they make a move. That's another reason why I said the dialogue is not engaging. If you ever felt sleepy when playing this, I feel you.

    Conclusion:
Almost all the 5-star reviews said the story is good, and it's not that good. You can say it's good if you want. Please don't say this is a masterpiece. It tricks people. There are loopholes everywhere. Most of the events are forced. You can't avoid the girl you don't like. You can't do anything other than deal with the girls. It's really not a good game.

If I really have to say something to the dev... please just don't do something that you can't do. Create another game. Lay the foundation for your world. But I guess there is no going back. The world settings are cool, but it performs miserably. The whole thing is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. It's beyond your ability. You can't just suddenly invent another setting to make things seem reasonable.

The dev is probably in a rabbit hole where he is constantly getting praise for the story. Wake up.

I don't like being a bad guy, and I barely criticize things. I don't even care if the worker starts working at 6 in the morning next to my house. And my standard is not high either. It's unreal to ask a free online AVN writer to make a flawless story. Not even J.K. Rowling can do that. Why should I? But the game and the fanboys who can't accept the facts still managed to make me write a review.

In the end, if you're looking for stories, go back to the Japanese AVN. Don't play this unless you're really into simulator games (it's not even good when we're talking about simulator games). Last but not least, this is not a hotel. It's literally an apartment.

I think out of all adult games I've played, this one's my favourite.

There's a lot of content, that includes visual-novel like stories, and replayable content.

The world the game is set in is interesting, that includes lots of interesting ideas. Not groundbreaking, but I wouldn't change it.

I love the girls, at the start I wasn't sure about some of them, but with time they all grew on me.

I find myself going back to the game and doing the replayable content over and over again.

Art style is very fitting to the game. It has a lot of soul to it.

Frankly, there's only two problems I have with it. One of them is that I love it so much, that I wish there was even more content. The other one, is that one day it might end.

First of all, I wrote some ratings for other games that I like and that in my opinion, have great potential. Some of them are better than others, but nothing comes close to Harem Hotel! This game is a masterpiece! I had never seen a game so detailed in its history, its characters and its universe. All the details are meticulously placed and written to give us a wonderful world to play in.

So, why do you need to play this game?

Harem Hotel is my favorite story and a life lesson. Of course, the game is full of sexual content, it's F95zone still. But for me, this game made me go through all emotions, sadness, anger, conciliation, compassion, well-being and acceptance. I have rarely seen such a complete and communicative game. Each character has a story, a past, a personality of their own. Their behaviors, their reactions and the characters in the hotel bring the game and the universe to life. We feel like living with them, every day is different and offers different and interesting scenarios.

It's rare that I'm blown away by a visual novel, but this game is something else. It's a real experience that I fully recommend! In my opinion, open-world games sometimes, can be complex or weird to go around, forget all that with this one. The game is simple and easy to follow and to continue the story.

    -The positive points
    1. Extremely loaded and interesting story, rich and creative
    2. Diverse and endearing characters
    3. Excellent graphics and animations
    4. No visual or sound problems
    5. Excellent writing
    6. Instinctive and important choices
    7. A lot of different fetishes
    8. Realistic evolution
    9. No crashes or fps issues
-The points that need more work
    1. I like to give points to work on, so creators can see what to improve, but here, what to put?
Finally, I'd like to say that, it's a game I've seen grow and I just want to keep seeing new updates. I wish to still be blown away by this game in the future and to eventually see a good ending.

    Keep up the good work!

Please remember that this is my opinion and I fully respect the opinions of others. I'm not disparaging anyone, besides, I'm just giving my opinion on the work that certain people do, because I think it need to be put forward.
