no i deleted the 6.1 save

I'm not really sure what you've actually done. When you install 0.6.1, the saves in appdata from 0.5.3 automatically get loaded into 0.6.1, if you overwrite those save then you obviously lose them. if you deleted the save folder in in the 0.6.1 game folder then the saves from appdata will still load (and vice versa). If you want to load the saves from 0.5.3 in 0.6.1 after you have already overwritten them, your only hope is that you still have 0.5.3 installed and can go into the 0.5.3 game folder and get the 0.5.3 backups and put them in appdata AFTER you delete the 0.6.1 saves in both appdata and the 0.6.1 game folder. If you deleted 0.5.3 and overwrote the saves then yes, you have lost the 0.5.3 saves.

Then you did it wrong.

i deleted the save folder in the 6.1 not the 5.3. but for some reason the 53. had the 6.1 save in it.

I just did what I said and it worked fine for me. I don't know how you managed to change the 0.5.3 saves without doing it manually.
