Well when I mentioned immortality I meant in the terms of aging such as say vampires or werewolves, where they don't age but can still be killed. This would allow the risk factor to remain instead of having a 'I can do anything I want with no consequences' kind of MC.Well "if" the MC decided to fight the issue in any way. Him and hotel the being immortal would make the whole endeavor alot less risky depending on if he chooses the violent approach. wouldn't have to worry about the ones you care about getting hurt...
before you say it though, no i don't think a straight up rebellion would be a good idea. It could potentially make the issue worse if not careful. I'm just saying "what if"...and i imagine being immortal would have the MC seen as a god if found out assuming this is total immortality we are talking about and not just a longer life.
Also this could be some ancient or forgotten/forbidden kind of magic that we could possibly find on the elven islands, especially since we haven't explored them as yet. Hell this could even be the reasoning behind the elf lives in this game, as in other series elves don't always have extra long lives. In fact in a lot of anime, comics or books they have the same lifespan as humans, it is just a lot of popular or well known ones have elves with long lifespans, example Lord of the Rings.
