There really isn't any 'hotel building', just unlock a new area once in a while, mostly for story reasons... Ellen manages basically everything for you.

Yeah, can't expect to like everyone in a game this size, most of us have issues with at least one character.

The 'sandbox' aspect of this game could not be easier, play around as much as you want, and go to the girls' room when you are ready to do more of her story. This is one of the easiest sandboxes of all time.

Again, there is really isn't any comparison between the two games nor their devs. Milfy's dev has said that he gets bored after a hand full of updates, and he will only make games that have about 5 updates from now on. Where as Runey is building a world with rich lore and plans to keep working on this even after the stories for the main girls are done. There might even be more games in this same world.

Harem Hotel is about story first, sex second, Milfy is incest first, and story ...maybe, but it will never be complete, so why care about it?

I didn't say you were looking for a fight, but the way you posted, that is what you were asking for. If you want to criticize a game, that is your right, we can't all like the same things, and many of us criticize what we like to make it better, but just saying it is overrated is not helpful in any way. If you want something to improve, you need to say what you don't like, something you still haven't really done.

I rated this one as I see it, I consider everything that matters to me. Graphics are nice, but not top of my list of needs, in fact, I prefer 2D over 3D any day. I like the story, the play style, the wold building, the lore, the kinks, and so on.

I agree, the number of 'good' games are few (especially in the AAA industry), and since I started to develop my own, I have had to stop playing most of them due to lack of time, but this is one of the few that I will never drop. It might easily be my favorite game on this site, whereas I won't touch Milfy for any reason, it really has very little that appeals to me.

Not only have you not said what you think is bad about this one, you do not say what you mean by 'good'. You rate it 4-4.5 for your tastes and yet you call it a bad/overrated game. I really don't understand why you are complaining then. For me, when I don't like a game, I generally avoid it at all costs, I don't go looking for a place to complain about it, so again, I am confused here, anything you can give a 4 (average) is not a bad game by any stretch.

That is why I said 4 average rating between the two.

2.5 is average over all, 3-4 is still pretty good out of 5, 60-80%. I mean nothing is perfect. Though as these games go, this one comes pretty close for my tastes.

Why would you compare Milfy City with Harem Hotel is beyond me, Milfy City uses Daz3d and Harem Hotel Honey Select. Harem Hotel has a story and and some great characters with different stories to tell. Milfy City has great renders. You just can't compare both games with eachother.
Both games are good in their own way.

Maybe each one has a different opinion about what an overrated game is (for my overrated it does not mean that it is bad, it is good but not as much as people paint it) that you look at the ratings and they say that their rating is 5 or almost perfect gives you to understand that this game has to have something that is really good after 165 reviews (it has good things) but when I played it I realized that it was not what was expected and that it was missing, voyeurism, 3d, male protagonist , cosplay, sandbox, corruption (practically all categories except for the harem and slave) and especially the animation seemed quite normal or mediocre to me for those 5 review stars. If it were for the story I would give it a 5 but there are more things in the game and for me it is not at the level that you put it. I am not going to tell you that the gameplay is good or bad because it is like 60% of what you can find around that 60% (you can find games that outperform you in quite a few aspects but then weaken in others). The problem comes from you start looking for a sandbox by rating and guess which one comes out first "Harem" a word that most otakus (joke) don't like very much and we have "Waht is legend" at 6 rank with 4 weeks of life. Except for history, it has nothing that stands out to be as upstairs, much less as 1 place in the sandbox.

I repeat it again, the game is good as for a 4 (subjectively) but not a 5 and therefore in my opinion it is overrated.

Of the 5 or 10 people who have reacted to me, you TheDevian are the only one who has responded to me with arguments and sense according to your opinion.

Now tell me TheDevian if with what the developer earns, apart from the story it stands out in any other aspect to deserve 5 stars?

It has all of that, look at the tag rules thread. It's a 3D game, it has a male protag, there are cosplay events, it's a sandbox and it has corruption (not dark corruption, but still corruption). You either 1) Haven't played the game enough to find that stuff or 2) Don't know what the tag means.

Sorry but for me is hotel building, some characters are good others are shit for me (same as in all games, nothing important), half sandbox to easy game and some mechanics are little bit damm.

I'm not going to argue with you, if you didn't like my game that's fine. But others did, so I wouldn't call it overrated. It's fine to say you personally don't like a game. But if what the above is what you got out of my game, you didn't really play it.

v0.10 may end up being the update with the most story content added. 1 - 2 story events is normal per main character.
In v0.10 Lin will get 5 (about 30 minute play time)
Felicity & Emma + Ashley will get 3 (also about 30 minutes I think)
Kali and Autumn will each get 2 story events
Android and Maria are planned for 1 story event each.
And 5 story events for 4 different side characters so far.

I'm not going to argue with you, if you didn't like my game that's fine. But others did, so I wouldn't call it overrated. It's fine to say you personally don't like a game. But if what the above is what you got out of my game, you didn't really play it.

Last play was 3 months ago.

In these 3 months I have not played it. Has the development been as good as the + € 4,000 that people invest? Because if it is if I try it again and if this development is really according to what is being invested and what is promised I subscribe for € 5 a month with my patreon.

Most people rate games like they do phone surveys, knowing that the person on the phone gets in trouble if they get anything less than a max score. There are also people who give something a 5 to make up for the ones who give it a 1 for just as asinine a reason.

It has all of the things you say are missing. The animation started low end, but the more he learns about what he is doing, the better it gets. To me, the gameplay is more or less perfect, it is a thing to emulate. Different people put different value on each of those things. If someone doesn't care about X do you think that ought to affect their review?

Any new game is going to be skewed if you are looking at the ratings, you have to wait for at least a 3rd release for that as a general rule.

Yes, for some of us, I think that it does deserve it, as I said, not all of us place the same value on the same things. My favorite kink is exhibitionism, and the fact that this has it done well, without the things that I hate, such as NTR, the MC being raped (much), sex with guys, etc. already puts it in the top 10 games here, and adding to that the rich lore and story shoot it far passed that. To me, some of those things get far more than 5 points, which more than makes up for the few things that I do not care for (which I can more or less avoid without issue). To me, a 4.5 is the minimum this game deserves.

I like HS art a lot better than daz, as a breast man, having breasts that move and nipples that are not flat, or looking like pinched clay matters a lot. I avoid most Daz games simply due to the fact that the breasts/nipples look awful.

To be fair, you can't really expect a good dialogue when your initial critique was simply 'this is overrated', and then comparing it to MC was a real low blow. You have to expect that you will upset people with that, that is pretty trolly. The only way that comparison is not insulting is if you are comparing art, and comparing daz to HS is truly apples and oranges.

The beginning hasn't changed much, but older content is being remade from time to time. And of course it gets more interesting the further in you get. Later in the game, the lore of the world really opens up and you explore many places outside of the hotel.

The expectation that people gave me made me overrated and I don't understand why people think I'm insulting the game for saying things that I don't like about it but at the same time I say it's good but it's not perfect for me I mean 5 stars is too much for any game on this forum. That is just it, so far, you have not really said what things you don't like ...at least not in a way that anyone seems to get, you just seem to say that you feel let down, but comparing a game to Milfy City is downright insulting in almost every way, there is no way around that.
