This or at least see if can gain an ally. Remember Lin might be pretty happy with MC as her master, but:
a) she knows not all elves are that lucky
b) if she ever has a child or MC dies, she might not be so lucky again nor any possible child
So that wish to free the elves is a big part of Lin storyline.
