Yes, reading is hard....
Regardless, all old mods can work with a newer game version, but the never must work with a newer game version. So, if the patch isn't affected from the newer game version (eg. only small grammar correction) then it mostly would work. Often wait for the modder to assure you that the patch will work for the newer game version too.
it's just a minor revision(bugfixes, etc), i would assume it'll work.

Except it's not. 0.16.1 reworked some of the opening parts as well as tweaked other things.
That means some of the mod's code won't line up and will cause errors.
On top of that, Ashram needs to add in the options for any new/rewritten dialog as well as the new additions on top of making sure that the mod doesn't cause errors there as well.
It's not easy and it takes time.
The old mod can work, but it'll be bug prone and not line up with everything that's changed.
So wait for Ashram or Lain to do their work.
Quality mods take time.

Ok, my bad, I didn't see that Ashram had updated it to a test version. Thought he was gonna wait and work with 0.16.2 instead.

- I have the TEST version for 0.16.1 done, it does have some minor issues with the WT that needs people to test and let me know.
- I see that Runey has the 0.16.2 update out and I will work on getting an update for that soon but my personal life (re: Health) has left me so drained I'm not sure how soon but i will try to incorporate that on the next TEST update.

The old mod mod will not work with the newer version of Harem Hotel.
Runey made changes in the earlier part of the game that conflict with the old mod and caused crashes, as early as day 2 that you cannot get past.
I went through that on version 16.0 because I was starting over again, and installed the old mod, under the assumption that it should be fine with the old content. I could install the new mod when it was released.
Day 2, entering either Kali's room or Lin's room I got unrecoverable errors that involved clothing items that had not yet appeared in the game.
Deleting the entire game folder and re extracting the game, without using the mod worked perfectly.
Since v0.16 is technically the update and v0.16.1/v0.16.2 are basically bugfixes for the update, I'd assume a mod should have minimal conflicts so long as the "v0.16" part is good.
if you're trying to do that in a major revision, i don't know what to tell you.

I was unaware that it was a major revision. Many devs upgrade graphics in earlier parts of the game, and the old mods still work for old content in that situation.
Runey went beyond revising just the graphics.

Honestly, your health comes first. If you need time to get right before you work on the mod again, take it, man.

If you try to use my mod on 0.16.2 then you might run into issues either minor or major as I don't know right now, too exhausted to look at the code changes for 0.16.2. I had mentioned earlier this week that I was getting he mod ready for 0.16.1 and will do an update to 0.16.2 later.

I am going to have to go to 2 different specialists for what turned out to be wrong with me. It varies from day to day but I generally can do some amount of work each day.

I always figured we would be able to save her as part of Maria's story, but time will tell.
Even before he started the remakes, the mod rarely worked on the newer version, and the saves were locked to it.Runey tends to do silly things like that with his updates.

This comment is gonna be a short review, I'll do a longer one once my account has permission.
I had real life, a lot of personal changes, a move across country, a new job, and more get in the way of my playing this game back around .10/.11. I recall intending when I downloaded whichever version it was that I was gonna replay from the beginning and give Runey my thoughts on the changes theyd started doing to better flesh out the basic archetypes that Lin, Kali, Ashley, Maria, and Android initially were. However I never finished that playthrough and I don't think I got to say much about it. So this time, I did just that, downloading this latest version day of release here and palying it to completion over the last week or so.
Frankly, I loved it so much more than I used to, and I've always been a big fan. The girls no longer feel like shallow archetypes, but rather real people with personal traumas just trying to find their place in a society that either explicitly makes them outcasts, as with Lin, Android, Kali, and Ashley, or who find themselves able to fit in, but not liking who that makes them, as with Maria, and the clones as soon as they get over themselves. And as the story goes on, exploring how these realities for these characters reach into the core of Syl'anari society and how many of these characters feel a drive to end the systems that caused their pain and trauma, frankly, I can't believe this is happening in an adult game, especially not one as popular as HH.
I've talked two of my roommates' ears off about how well done some of the elements of this game are, in a way I see some people railing against in negative reviews, but have been happy to see so much positivity as well. Despite the fact that they know I'm talking about a porn game, they too are incredulous that it's saying the things its saying while retaining that sexual outlet side of it.
Legitimately well done Runey... I'll probably come back to the discord and talk some more about this in detail later, but I wanted to boost the game here first.
