Since there is a mod for this game, you should always state whether you are using the mod.
Mods can cause glitches that have nothing to do with the actual game having a glitch, so better safe than sorry.
I've never seen that glitch reported by anyone before, which is why I mentioned it.

I did a fresh run through v18 from scratch and finished the event just fine. Did you use a full install or upgrade an existing version?

I've ignored a similar error where something was off the table in regard to the bug spray.
Later on, when harvesting the bed, it didn't appear again and later on I was able to assign Jin the gardening work too (I had the feeling I got less snails after.... ^^)

That whole menu prolly needs a rework. Girls drop/reappear at random after multiple events and it's been like that for several versions at least - I had comments about it at least a year ago, likely longer than that.
