The MC in this story does treat ALL of his elves like royalty especially Lin whom he fell in love with. As far as other slave owners go from what I've seen they couldn't give 2 shits about their slaves as long as they bring home the money or "service" them the way that they want(Meaning torturous BDSM sessions or severe beatings) from your comments I can see that you have not gotten for enough into the game to see this. When MC & Ashley go looking for Ren you will see what I mean. Also the murdered elf & the dead human when you do free roam into the slums. The dead human was being investigated more than the dead elf.:(
I could be wrong, that elf did not have an owner, also the creator is telling a story they sort of need things to go their way. I am talking about how such a society would function outside of a story. From what I have seen there are laws towards mistreatment of elves and while they are not properly enforced they still exist and can be used to make an example out of those who harm to be frank an asset that far exceeds a human. Imagine an elf with medical knowledge, they could be the best doctor or surgeon in the world and remain so for hundred's of years. Furthermore we have seen people have their elves taken away from them for be abusive. Though I think it was a mistake on Runey's part for adding a sort of socialized elf program as that most likely drastically increased the abuse/deaths of a slowly dying resource unless that was his goal as he does show a lot of mistreatment towards elves within poorer communities like Ashley's backstory and so on.

It is likely a lot like the bible, killing a slave or a woman, was akin to a property crime, punishable by a fine, whereas killing a freeman is an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.

Lust events are fun additions. Would be nice to see more characters receive them. Really hoping still that .19 brings back Eris as I have no idea what to do with her phone number lol.

Also, as much as I am intrigued by finding Ren, I hope we find Felicity...

Hello everyone!

v0.19 has been in the planning stage for a few weeks, and now I'm happy to announce that it is officially beginning development!

In v0.19, you'll see some major character and story developments, and the hotel grouping up more to solve their issues. It's been planned for quite some time that each character's stories will converge, and in this update, you'll begin to see a lot more of that! These characters are family now, so their events will showcase this more and more in upcoming updates, especially for events that will change the course of where this messed up world is heading.

Along with that, more side character action will be coming to v0.19, including new characters in the hot springs, shower, and lewd options with them ;)

Explore content is planned to get a major update in v0.19, with a lot new events and even ambient sound effects. The BunBun Brothel especially getting some attention this time around. I also have plans to showcase some in-world holidays, such as "Crusader's Day", which is a mix of Christmas and Holloween where residents will dress up as crusaders, warriors, wizards and witches, and go door to door for a fun tithing.

I also have some loose plans for an expansion to the Traits system. These may or may not appear in v0.19 as I'm still thinking of exactly how each trait could gain more value. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on what I could add to make these more fun for you. Primarily I think new trait related Inspect options such as piercings, plugs, vibes etc. As well as a new Crowd Pleaser trait may be introduced for orgies, unlocked upon a certain amount of x-somes, which in turn will unlock more group content. These are all just rough ideas though, so please let me know what you think!

And if I have enough time, I also want to expand the lobby outfits include all of a character's current outfits and nude as well. Pinups could also use this expansion. And remake some old events, I have some good ideas for remakes already. Oh, and don't think I've forgotten about the dungeon! That content is quite old and I think needs an overhaul to also fit in better with the lust system. Once I figure this out, you can expect a lot of side characters to join down there as well! But since v0.19 is already planned to be full of content, I think the dungeon update will be in v0.20.

Also don't forget! If you're a $10+ patron you can request custom art of the characters again. It's free to any patron over the dedicator level, so don't forget your monthly art request if you have it

And lastly, there's a new upgrade for Lin, Kali, Ashley and Maria on Lovescape

Each character has received a written upgrade by me, so they should act much more like their characters and remember some key details of their story. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on this. If you're interested you can check it out

As always, thank you all so much for supporting me! Either here on Patreon or just by playing the game, it really means the world to me that I'm able to do what I love for a living :)

Possibly, but remember that Elf is someone's property. So if any customer harmed or tried to harm the Elf they would be charged and be forced to pay and possibly face jail time. Considering the setting and the world I could see harsh punishments for those who would harm an Elf that they do not own.
Yes if we consider the setting of the games world robbing an elf would nothing more than a minor property crime.
But you also have to consider who the human ran courts are going to believe the "upstanding" human or the subhuman elf. And considering how the people of Syl'anar view elves it's pretty obvious that it will be the human that is believed at least without witnesses but even if there are witnesses most would look the other way thinking the elf deserved it.
Also despite all his failings if it wasn't for Cromwell elves wouldn't even have the few rights they do have. Before him killing or harming an elf was about the same as putting down a wild animal.

You & me both wookie, You & me both.(sigh, what is it with people who think it's ok to mistreat other beings?)
I will never understand it. Tribalism is something we need to try and overcome.

Not really, you are not taking something from the elf, you are robbing their owner. Still a property crime, but it would be anyway.
What you seem to be trying to say is that if you HURT an elf, it's a property crime, unlike with attacking a free person, it would be assault and battery.

Elves are a bit better off than half-elves, but the idea is the same.

But yeah, his laws are a (baby) step in the right direction, we just need finish the job, and free them and half elves, (big steps). XD

Comparing a living thing to a car is intellectually dishonest.
...Er, yes? That's rather the point of the whole VN. Racism is bad.

But try, for a moment, to put yourself in the shoes of someone for whom slavery is normalized. Slavery does not consider slaves to be people, because people are living things and considering a living thing is intellectually dishonest. So, they don't consider the slave caste to be of the same type as an actual person.

Ergo, elves are not considered as people. They are not treated like people. They are property, and the government will treat them as such. The government has a list of all the enslaved elves and what their pricetag is. If an elf is killed, then it is a case of destroyed property - literally identical to the destruction of a car or other valuable livelihood object like a home. Alternatively the elf is business merchandise and thus is subject to that kind of perception.

As a result, murdered elves will not be treated as a major crime. After all, nobody died, just an elf. Elves are not people, they are property. Property shouldn't be destroyed, of course, so it's still definitely a crime and will be persecuted, but it's not nearly the same morally as killing a person.

Slaves are property, or more accurately, livestock.
At least, that is how they are seen and treated as, by the people keeping them as slaves.
In the slave owning states in the U.S., before the Civil War, if a slave raised their hand to a free person, they could be whipped, or even hung by the neck until dead.
Even in many books of literature, a slave resisting or raising their hand to a free person would be grounds for a severe beating, or death.

From Roman law.

When a slave committed a crime, the punishment exacted was likely to be far more severe than for the same crime committed by a free person. Persona gradually became "synonymous with the true nature of the individual" in the Roman world, in the view of Marcel Mauss, but "servus non habet personam ('a slave has no persona'). He has no personality. He does not own his body; he has no ancestors, no name, no cognomen, no goods of his own."

And you are absolutely correct on both, I was born a raised in the south and to this day shit like that still happens and IT PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF that a person of a different color or nationality can be mistreated so damned harshly.
