Think part of that is due to the narrative progression. Early on in previous versions, she was very much 100% Grandpa only(she loved him, wanted nothing else). It's only been in the more recent updates that some of that has changed (I don't remember how much of her now vs old is different, it's been a good minute).
So with that in mind: if she's committed to another, why make content for her until that mindset changed.
She's also roughly twice MC's age, supposedly. Even leaving aside any commitment to Grandpa, she isn't likely to be looking too hard at someone half her age, at least for a while.

Haven't played in a year, thrown into a million forced cutscenes with the same happy music playing in the background. No continuity, no semblance of care for plot. Why bother try to focus on plot when it's going to be thrown away like this? Seriously?
Was that after having finished 0.17 and then running the 0.18 update? I felt the same way. I think those scenes would have made more sense, and felt more natural, if I'd just played 0.18, but coming to it as an update from 0.17 does throw all those scenes at you at once (and then not really feel the effect of them, at least for Lin's and F&E's events). I'm not going to start the game over to try, but I'll bet those scenes would fit better if I did.
Yeah, I have been complaining about that for years. I wish we would go back to the *TALK* mechanic, and then just move us to the room we need to be in.
