At least the original Lain mod also restored cut content, so I could kinda see why some folks used it at the start. Beyond that, I agree. The doors tell you what the next steps for events are and I've never had any issues finishing any update since 2020.

Yeah, it would be best not to use them any more, at least until/if Lain comes back, or someone makes a new one.
But that said, it's best not to mod games until they are more or less complete if you have a choice, otherwise your risk of breaking things is pretty high.

you'll have (how are you) for a bit, you just need to play through and do the characters story arc , it will trigger the other options when you raise certian skills, its a long grind but once open them kinda breeze through it. try taking them to cafe and raise exhibition and affection up too. I don't remember kali walking nude through town or papa ron's, unless its on a visit her option, haven't done much of. finished her story for this last update and not seen them.
I do have a question though and its been bugging me.. On the Intro "sophie" the maid with the eyepatch, you see her in the Slums. was it ever a considered option of getting her back to the hotel or just a lost character?
