yeah. i just compiled what was written on the various walkthrough sites and the wiki, testet most of the codes to make sure they work. you do get warnings when you enter them though. and can back out again.

Just a thought.
You have a mac and the mac version.
BUT! What if the mod file that you have to install is only for PC's.

That is a problem with the mod, and not the game.

Would be nice if this game had a pinpoint guide
Like a character panel
you select one of the characters
and it says
Next Event at this place and time
Along with any additional requirements

Would make Lains mod mostly obsolete

That is why we are working on the wiki, but he might add something eventually.

A simple thought.
Judging by your answers you are not competent to answer questions about the game at all.

The main.rpy file is the cheat mode file from the developer, which has been around for a bunch of versions of the game. It can be enabled through the code, or you can just type cheat_mode = True in the console. Shall I tell you how to switch on the developer console in RenPy so that you can finally see what we are talking about?

I would not recommend using it, cheats are generally for testing purposes only and can break your game.

Well, any way that it is looked at.
It is a mod that allows a person to access content.
It is a "HACKED" file, that has had the cheat codes added to it.
It has also been modded to bypass game encryption.
Plus, you have to create a folder to place the file in, inside the game folder.
That is explained on the mod file page.

That means that any discussion of issues with the modded file belongs in the thread for the mod.

Since that modified file is not the file that Runey created, and any issues with it are not an issue with the game.

Some conditions are kinda fucked up. I mean I knew that but I've stumbled upon one that's pretty annoying.

I've restarted a game, taking my sweet time, but now I have to watch that "somewhere in Syl'anar" with the "mysterious man" and "mysterious woman" in front of their big window looking all villain-like scene everytime I go to sleep... the issue being I'm nowhere near the point of everyone else's story where I can follow up on that storyline. If I play it (using the *talk* for Ellen to give us the kind invitation that launch all the shit that happen after), nothing makes sense because this is way too soon. Yet, I still have to watch the same scene every night...

I suppose there's no way around that unless I decompile the files myself and change that ? Kinda afraid I'll get errors from that but I don't see how to get around it otherwise, and it might become very annoying very quickly to have to skip through that scene every night...

Coming here to vent about it mostly, but if someone has a solution for it that would be great.

Lain's mod as it is now is, unusable, since it will crash the game if older versions are used in Harem Hotel.
Also, as the other mods creator points out, there is something added to bypass the encryption, which makes me wonder if macs will allow that bypass.
As I said, I tried it, and it works perfectly on a PC.
The user with the problem, is using a mac.

is it not possible to implement a way to see which version a "save" was saved in? like the version number on the bottom of each save on the save/load screens. i believe i have seen this "feature" in other renpy games. could actually be useful in many ways :)
