Haven't had that issue with any release version in 3-4 years, so it sounds like you possibly cleared your appdata renpy directory.

Manual saves are located in the Game\Saves\ folder. If you update to a new version, make sure to back them up first. While Ren'Py has it auto and quick saves in the app data folder it won't keep your manual saves

False, Ren'Py (normaly) keep all your saves on both locations.Manual saves are located in the Game\Saves\ folder. If you update to a new version, make sure to back them up first. While Ren'Py has it auto and quick saves in the app data folder it won't keep your manual saves

I had to start a new game. It's a bug that can be replicated since I have done it multiple times. Do you have the Mod installed? Because I do and I figured it was that. The back button is permanently on the UI (lower left corner) and if you click it it takes you to explore caliber city. However, if you accidently click on that while in a scene or another event it will move you to explore caliber city, mid event and if you continue like that you fucked the game with that bug. Just doing a roll back will undue it but if you don't notice when you did it well then yeahh.

I have had zero problems with Harem Hotel save files from release to release, nor have I seen anyone else complaining about it.
Unless they had used Lains mod in the past, or they had played the beta, which was never supposed to have been released to the public, because it had known bugs...
Those bugs make save files from the beta unusable in official releases of Harem Hotel.
Lains mod used to be notorious for that, until Lain fixed the issue with the last release, 17.2.
The currently available version of Lain's mod is outdated and unusuable in Harem Hotel versions newer than 17.2...
Running outdated copies of Lain's mod will cause game crashes 100% of the time.

Looks like a bug that Runey needs to know about, but from what I see is Maxed level reached with Kate.(shrugs)

Question: Did you tweak any of the game stats?
Harem Hotel events are tied to the games stats.
If someone were to manually raise any of their stats to a higher level, they could cause issues with events being triggered.

Sit down at the computer in the MC's room.
There is an icon on the desktop that looks like an open book.
That will take you to a wiki page where you can find information on triggering events.
Currently (as per v0.18.0 or v0.18.1) last Kate event is: you buy her a pair of earrings (online on the computer in MC's room) and then you can invite her on a date in a bowling/bar when she gets drunk and then you walk her home throught the park while she is still drunk.
If you saw this event, you saw all Kate's event till now.
I don't know what I'll do with my life when Harem Hotel ends.. I think I'll leave this world of eroge games behind.
She probably lost the earrings and MC needs to buy her another pair....Looks like a bug that Runey needs to know about, but from what I see is Maxed level reached with Kate.(shrugs)
(Joking obviously. The amount of times that's happened to my exes is insane)

It means still pending event that has not yet been triggered.
Yes, but if you want to keep them, you have to copy over the ones in the game folder, something I highly recommend to all players when updating. System folders have issues, and can fuck up, OS's crash, drives fail, and so on.
The ones in APPDATA are there as a backup, not your main saves.
It is also good to clean out that folder, so your system doesn't get bogged down, and your C:\ dosen't get full.
9/9 means you are done, and the ! is a bug. Think that is known, but I guess it didn't get fixed with the patch.
