How much does choosingthe slave route change the main girl's stories? The way everything is going it really seems like choosing the slave route for the side girls would be a very strange juxtaposition to the main tone of the game.

Pretty much--the arc of the story is now (and I'm a little unsure whether this was always the plan or not) "free the slaves." I think slave route gets you more sex sooner, but that's about it.
Kind of bothers me tbh. I don't want to risk my life going on adventures to elf territory to find a way to free the slaves, I want more slaves.

Most of this was before the MC had a personality of his own. Now that he has opinions, the slave route makes less and less sense and it wouldn't surprise me if those get repurposed at some point and the routes removed. I'm not saying that will happen, as I'm not Runey, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Current story and MC personality just doesn't make any sense to have it.

I mean we also have what... three "ladies in waiting" or whatever you wanna call them just sitting in the side room of the sanctuary at this point as well. Ann always felt weird just sitting there waiting for you, I felt like she needs a rehab arc similar to Jin and maybe should have been involved in Jin's rehab arc a bit more. The other two also feel weird just sitting there as available anytime scenes, would be nice if they got employed somehow in the hotel similar to Sylvia. Then you could build a little bit of rapport with them and have an easier time explaining their desire to sleep with the MC.... I mean just have them randomly pop into the lobby or one of the floors so you can say "Hi, how are things?" and there doesn't need to be much more than that.

To the best of my limited knowledge, the elves in the side room only serve that purpose of repeat scenes. They're basically added to make use of the assets Runey created but they don't/most likely won't have actual story purpose unless he changes his mind. This came up a year or so back, so you might be able to dig through his post history to find the more precise explanation. (assuming I'm remembering correctly)

Right, that's what I mean, I know the game is still in development so I'm sure things can change, but they need a bit of a life other than just sitting in that room for repeat scenes, if they don't get one it will really detract from the tone of Lin's major arc and just feel really sour in my opinion. Either don't give us scenes with them or do something that helps explain why they want to have those scenes with the MC when you aren't doing any slave routes.

They do when you buy them - they're showing appreciation for having a master that isn't a douchebag. Can you contort that to a form of exploitation? Sure. In the context of the game and what they've got access to and what they've been trained to do, they're doing what they can.
It'd make sense to just have them work as additional maids in the hotel/bar under the guise of the MC purchased them for additional manpower to support the residents/bar guests, but single dev working with the cast he already has, I imagine it's pretty low on the list of importance.
God, I almost dropped this game long ago back when the MC was just like
"Yep"
"Oh"
"Hm" every single time anything happened.

Without knowing what the error is, maybe? I did a full play through on v18.2 with no issues.

about 99.4% of all of the garden errors existed because people played the previous beta and it borked their saves.
