Might be easier to describe the content you're looking for. If you're looking for the typical corruption game where you take a pure innocent maiden and turn them into a hardcore nympho who wants any and all dick, then you're going to be disappointed. You can teach the girls new fetishes (new to the characters and you can avoid it if you want), such as those mentioned above being exhibition or bdsm/dungeon events, but you aren't going to "corrupt" them and share them around with other men/prostitution. The harem is the MC's and the only sharing involves the other girls and/or their female friends.

honestly i'm trully always looking for the most archaic definition of the corruption fetish, when the girls become evil, which is sadly very rare, I'm fine with the more common definition of corruption, guess the game doesn't really cater to me, thanks for the info in any case

still, there are some girls i wish were promoted to main. i especially like kate and juliet. might be interesting to get them both in one room similar to Emma and Felicity...

I can't speak for Runey, but I imagine making the sex scenes optional is more to do with Steam, so you can disable them at the start of the game and just play a visual novel about a guy running a hotel filled with pretty ladies.

I doubt that. There is ton of hardcore porn on steam.
I think it has more to do with Harem Hotel being an AVN and not a porn game.

I don't think Steam is a viable option though. AFAIK HS games aren't allowed to be sold there.

Personally, I think that all sex scenes should be optional in every game, because you never know who is going to like which character. No matter what you think when you are making your game, or how popular (or not) some characters are, there are going to be some who hate them, and others who love them. A good way to get people to stop playing your game, is to make them fuck someone they don't like.

In a game with a large cast, sure, but games with smaller and more focused stories can pretty easily justify having a few unavoidable scenes. Particularly the games where you're already in a relationship with someone at the start.

In a game with a large cast, sure, but games with smaller and more focused stories can pretty easily justify having a few unavoidable scenes. Particularly the games where you're already in a relationship with someone at the start.

I will be honest with you, starting a game, with a relationship, is a huge turn off for me. I hate when they force me to have a specific girlfriend, like College Bound, or have sex with certain people, like I quit one game because the first sex scene was forcing me to have sex with some chick who was bragging about her breast implants, something I can't stand.
In fact, if I had not already loved this game, there were a couple of scenes near the start that got me close to quitting, were it any other game. I can't stand being forced to do things, it's why I don't do femdom stuff too.

One of the reasons I like western VN's is that unlike their Japanese counterparts, you do not generally have to play through each girls' paths, in order to unlock the harem ending, which then forces you to have all 5 girls. Which, always includes one of 5 tropes, one of which is always something I can't stand, like a loli, or violent (Type A) tsundere, or something. Western Sandbox games usually let you go after any girl you want, and as many as you want, and are much less likely to make you do them all. Being someone who is very particular about who I fuck, I like that a lot.

Most of the sex stuff here is optional, and I love that, and making the rest of them optional too, is only going to make it easier to enjoy. Even if that is only for stuff going forward.

For me, it depends on what kind of game you're making. A sandbox game or seemingly sandbox game where the player either drives the plot themself or is intended to feel like they're driving the plot should have optional sex scenes since there's either true player agency or the illusion of it. Harem Hotel is a good example. Games that are more tightly plotted where the player is just along for the ride and might occasionally be asked to choose a branch can get away with mandatory sex scenes so long as the scene is important to the plot of the story being told. However, those games should also have a much smaller cast than something like Harem Hotel and the game should introduce a mandatory sex scene very early on so the player understands what they're getting into. And by "much smaller cast" I mean "maybe four love interests on the high end."
