How is it happening too fast? You've only had dinner with the brooks and talked to 4 of the 8 characters so far.

If you're talking about Annika... She's not the one being corrupted. You can INCREASE or LOWER her corruption, but she is corrupt from the start of the game. SHE is the one corrupting others. The corruption comes with corrupting the good Christian girl into doing bad things. Or the nerd. Or the aspiring filmmaker. Or the pregnant wife. Or the husband. These are the people getting corrupted.

You know, if I took too long to show corruption in the game, people would complain I took too long to get to the corruption. If I bring it straight in. Then people will complain it's too early.

I have a VERY detailed story written out, and I've put a LOT of time and thought into the flow, progression and pacing. Everything has a reason to be there. Trust the process. I put months into the story before I even started working on the game.

I've been seeing a growing number of comments from people acting like I'm making a personal custom game just for them—telling me what I should be doing instead of actually giving useful feedback.

So here’s the deal: from now on, if your comment reeks of self-entitlement, if you're being a dick, or if you're trying to steer development like you're in charge—I’m not wasting my energy on you. You're getting a GPT response. Congrats. You've officially made it harder for the people who actually had good questions, bug reports, or helpful ideas.

I work 15–18 hours a day on this game, 7 days a week. I don’t have the time or patience to keep wading through garbage just to find the gold. Responding to that crap drains me more than the work itself.

To those of you who are respectful, helpful, or just genuinely curious—I’ll still try to reply when I can. But I’m putting comment replies on the back burner for now.

If you want a faster, more direct line to me, you can always join my Patreon—even for free. Otherwise, buckle up and enjoy the game I want to make.

God bless you dev. You are a minority among Devs who stood up against those users who whenever there's a new dev, they demand add this, add that under the excuse that it's only a suggestion. The only ones who have the right to wish for something are those who pay if Dev ask patrons for ideas which consists of how the story will go, choose outfits for characters/say or kinks they want to see. Every time when other make game instead of Devs, games either get abandoned, Dev geta bullied by others or the game lose sense.

It's honestly wild. I see those same people on other devs’ threads too—just constantly demanding shit or trashing the game over the dumbest stuff. I'd get it if this was a full-priced release on Steam, version 1.0, and people were pissed they bought a broken mess. But we’re on F95Zone. These games are free. Most devs only post here because they know it’s gonna get pirated anyway and at least this way they can control the initial post. It's depressing.

When I play a game that doesn't do what I hoped it would, I don't bitch at the dev. I sure as hell don’t act like they owe me something. I either enjoy it for what it is or I go make my own. And that’s exactly what I did.

People complain the most about this game having too much to do. Like they'd rather have a few quick choices, mash through them, and jump straight to a sex scene. But first off, that’s not the kind of game I’m here to make. Second, there are already thousands of those out there if that’s what you want. And third—and most important—the best stories, the best characters, need time to simmer. If someone’s holding skip through dialogue, then the story clearly isn’t grabbing them... and that’s a writing problem. But if you want characters that actually mean something, you gotta put in the work. That’s what I’m building.

I'm trying to make the closest thing to a ‘90s point-and-click adventure inside Ren'Py. Something with soul, with humor, with grit. Not just another clone with a gallery.

And yeah, I know most of the feedback is good. I get a ton of love from people and some really awesome messages. But it's human nature—out of every ten kind comments, there's always that one asshole who just sticks in your head. You end up thinking about that one way more than all the praise combined.

My man you are putting way too much effort into typing here and reading everything its just a bunch of horny coomers for the most part whining about not getting their preferred kink. Although corruption happening too fast is a hilarious comment.

Take me all of 30 seconds to type a message that long. Believe me. It's not a big deal. But you are correct.

You know what? I think I will. Smell ya later to all the whiners!
Glad to have you over on the Patreon man.
I put out TONS of daily posts. Stuff about development, rants, images I'm working on, polls, all sorts of stuff. And it doesn't cost a dime.

Every gamebuilder has to chose some parameters. This is a game where the heroine is ready to face (and corrupt) the world. At least she thinks so: there are surprises promised to follow.
But if you want a corruption of the main character, this simply is the wrong game for that. May I suggest checking out TFgamesite with any number of slow corruption games?

The problem is that, like some games that offer story Sandbox/VN, if you choose VN, you miss a lot of scenes, which can be frustrating for players.

I totally get that frustration. Missing scenes in story-heavy games can suck, especially for players who prefer a straightforward VN style. But here's the thing: Harvesting Corruption was never meant to be a pure Visual Novel. It's a point-and-click adventure game with VN elements, not the other way around. That’s the game I want to make. If I started building something else just to please everyone, I’d lose all passion for it—and the game would suffer for it.

That said, I’ve gone out of my way to include a Story Mode, even though I never planned on offering that in the first place. I think that’s a pretty fair compromise.

Adding a full alternate version of the game that functions like a traditional VN with all scenes and all choices? That’s basically building a second game from scratch. It’d take the same amount of coding and writing—just structured completely differently. There’s no world where I can make two full versions of this game at once, especially not just to satisfy a small portion of players.

This is Harvesting Corruption. It’s not trying to be anything else. :)

Looks promising, hope dev sticks with this!
Appreciate it! I’m not just sticking with it—I’m married to it, emotionally compromised by it, and losing sleep over it. This game’s happening whether it kills me or turns me into a caffeine-fueled cryptid in the process. Thanks for the support!

Otherwise, I'm afraid of a backup error at the end of the last update.

When I spy on Lilly and Raven, once I get to my cabin I can't save anymore, it gives me a script error, but if I ignore Lilly and Raven, I can save.

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

This is the error I get when trying to save. I'm in sandbox mode if that matters.

This is exactly the error I'm getting, and I should point out that the error isn't due to saving after Annika's scene but on the spying through a window scene, because I tried saving ignoring the other cabins and it worked.

The error in question:

PicklingError: Can't pickle <function <lambda> at 0x0000000005ab3b80>: attribute lookup <lambda> on store failed"

Yeah, that Pickling Error’s already on my bug fix list. I just haven’t had time to wrestle with it yet. I’m currently buried in like 1,200 renders for the Cabin Sneak-In scenes. After that chaos, I’m diving headfirst into a full code cleanup: rewriting, shuffling things around, making shit less janky overall.

Pretty sure that Pickling bug is tied to one of my old Lambda functions... Basically old code that seemed like a good idea at the time. Turns out, Ren’Py doesn’t play nice with saving anything that’s not serializable, and lambdas are basically “nah, fuck you” when it comes to that. So yeah, it’s probably exploding during save/load because of that.

Once I refactor that in the code rework, it’ll likely sort itself out.

Appreciate the bug report.

Yeah, that Pickling Error’s already on my bug fix list. Right now, though, I’m knee-deep in about 1,200 renders for the Cabin Sneak-In scenes, so it'll be a bit before I can circle back to bugs. After that, I'm planning a major code overhaul—rewriting and reorganizing a bunch of stuff to make things run smoother.

Appreciate the bug report.
Okay no worries, I'd wait for a fix and start the game again, it doesn't bother me. I want Maggie to dom... I mean show me a bit of the places to visit, all that, all that.

You want to dominate Maggie? Or you want Maggie with her mommy milkers to dominate you?

The second choice, of course. Annika must die choking on those balloons !

I'm a big fan of femdom games and it's even better if it's a FC and she's subjected to other girls, lezdom is far too rare unfortunately.
