One word: Ambitious.

Seems to me you're far too ambitious for a first project. Just putting it out there.

Not only do you insist on some really advanced graphical quality for your renders (which takes hella time), and a TON of branching potential (which takes hella more time), but you also have a family to take care of.

We will watch your career with great interest, but I remain sceptical about your ability to deliver all your promises in a reasonable amount of time.

Not too ambitious. I just don't settle for mediocre.
Also, a "Reasonable amount of time" is subjective. I definitely never intended on this game coming out quick. My priority is quality over speed. And it always will be. I want a great product. Not a lot of quick products.

I’m officially returning to Ren’Py after months of clawing through Unreal. Here’s what that means:

The real Annika is back – Swedish, bratty, and ready to get corrupted all over again.
A new night job system – Work the floor at a shady bar. The sluttier she acts, the bigger the payday.
Minigames – Cleaning and waitressing are now playable mechanics. Screw up, and there are consequences.
Perspective switching – In key scenes, you’ll step into other characters' shoes to unlock secrets and twist the narrative.
New Game Plus – Carry your skills and cash into the next run. Make different choices. Chase different paths.
Expanded cast – A Japanese exchange student, a farmer’s daughter, and a whole cast of shady regulars at the club, casino, and store—each with their own arcs, each worth your time.
️ Full visual overhaul – All renders are being redone from scratch with new lighting, cleaner models, and more emotional fidelity. And once my main rig’s back, I’ll be training LORAs for every major character so their look is locked in across every frame.

Well, good luck. But don't count on massive financial support in that case. I wish it happens, but mind your expectations; telling people that your priority are excellent 4K renders over getting updates out in a timely manner does not build confidence that they will get their money's worth.

I am not one to sugar coat things to make people feel all fluffy inside. It's not my responsibility. I make adult games because I want to. I'm not now and don't expect I'll ever make enough doing this to pay my bills so worrying about what other people think of how I do things really isn't something I do. When I had my 4090 I was putting out updates every 3 weeks. I know most devs go without updates for half a year. So again, if people think I'm going to slow, they'll just have to get over it. I work 10-15 hours a day on this. If that's not enough, lol. Oh well.

Again, my goal is a GREAT story. Engaging gameplay. EXCELLENT characters. And as realistic of renders as I can dish out. Not appeasing crowds or pushing half baked content out the door to collect $40 a month. lol.
Because guess what? When the game is done, the people who play the finished game aren't going to say, MAN, this guy took 2 years to make this game?!?!? They're going to say, dude that was a pretty awesome game. Finished product is all that matters.

If you think THAT was attitude, you haven't read many of my other posts to self entitled leeches who like to complain about decisions I make. I'm not a politician. I don't watch my attitude. I say what I feel. Charisma points don't make games. Or pay bills.

If I lived in another state, it would be in there. I even thought about making it and giving it to someone else to add in as a mod. Of course, I didn't do that, so I can't get in trouble for it, but HAD I done that, it would have been released by someone from a place where it's legal, and it wouldn't have been on me any more. lol.

With a VPN, you can still technically do that. Unless they send FBI on your ass, your state likely doesn't have the tools to trace your VPN activity so thoroughly. And even then, if they trace the upload location of the "mod", they will see it's from outside of U.S., so fuck 'em.

The alleged content would be an "optional mod" that you would have to deliberately download separately from the main game, then install. It wouldn't make the base game unplayable.

I'm not sure there are countries where it is allowed. In mine for instance (France, if you want to know) incest isn't forbidden provided it happens between consenting adults, which applies to all sexual relations. But zoophilia is forbidden, because an animal isn't supposed to say it consents. But I don't know everything in the world

The game doesn't have Beasty Content in it. If someone makes a mod adding it in, you'd have to go download their mod to add that to the game. It wouldn't be part of my game as a download. My game is 100% legal in all countries.
