That can be applied to any game on this site, but sadly the development of renders and script and paths takes time, and considering the quality of the cutscenes and narrative it has a pretty decent development time, there are other games that take the same or more for less content than this one.

If the dev update cycle is in fact 6 months for the amount of renders and story content per update. Then based on what I've seen from other well known and well liked and respected devs that are known to work hard and communicate well with us, I'd say this dev is working very hard at bringing us the content in a very respectable time frame. Of course, if that timeline changes (or that 6 month comment was false), then my opinion might also change.

The thing about these kinds of games only having one developer is that having two of them often compromises the project in ways you often couldn't even imagine before starting out. I would give examples of games that failed because a solo dev teamed up with someone else, but I can't think of any good examples of that. At least not of games that are on this site (and mentioning games not on this site is a no-no according to the rules...)

But you are right: Trusting someone else to maintain not just the quality you seek for your game but also the artistic vision behind it is incredibly risky, and most often not worth the bother when it comes to visual novel games. Sure, it might be easier at times, when one person does the rendering and the other does the writing/programming... But it's still a right gamble!

Hey everyone,
It's been a minute since the last update, I've been continuing to work on the game since then and have made some decent progress. But my normal day job has also been taking more of my time than usual as it's gotten a bit hectic lately. I have been considering some changes here and am toying with the idea of eventually going full-time into this, but it's honestly a complicated decision that will require time. In the meantime I'll keep doing my best to juggle both.
Anyways, at the moment I'm at around 500+ renders and 16+ animations. Most of the work went into the animations and I'm working on some more right now. There is still a ton of work to be done, but we're slowly inching forward.

Damn it! Now I'm having regrets in buying this game on Steam before it's completed. Just knowing there's a possibility that he might abandon the game (or rush the ending) due to his other job (whether he/she admits it or not) is so worrisome now. What a way to ruin my mood. I am not normally into the whole futa thing. I started playing this because of the female protag tag. I then saw how brilliantly this is written and I now will just kinda overlook the oddness of it to me. No hate on trans or hermaphrodites, just never was something I found attractive. I am definitely sticking around for the story though and the sexy ladies our protag is gonna tag.

Hell, I'm totally into futas, herms, chicks with dicks, or whatever you want to call them and after seeing my counterpart play this game, I'm starting to be into it regardless of the MC's fem-dick! Goes to show a good story can make a game appealing beyond the gameplay or other content.

...Funnily enough, I actually usually avoid games with a futa MC, even though I definitely like futa characters overall. Maybe it's just because that feels more like "her thing" you know? (As in my counterpart's.)

I am a little past seeing Lisa's backstory...damn, this game took the "dad is dead" theme to the limit with the mc, Marianne and Lisa all losing their dad's. I guess the mc is going to have to become the new dad for all three families. In all seriousness, that Lisa backstory hit even harder than the other two, her losing her sister as well and blaming herself with the help of her mom.

Also, ham candle, I have been alive for 54 years and thought I had heard all the different slang terms for a dong, guess I was wrong. That is almost as good as a random band name I ran across many moons ago called "The Pork Tornadoes".

EDIT: Just finished the current build. This fucking game is wrecking me, goddammit. The end of the "Smile" chapter had me leaking out my eyes and nose. Then the damned devs had to hit me with this...



I miss that glorious man. I consider myself pretty lucky that I have never really struggled with depression. I have lost people I was close to, like both of my parents and one of my brothers but they were all over 65 years of age. Those still affect me at times but I have enough good memories that it offsets some of the loss. The MC in this game is beautifully written. Hell, all of the characters are well written, even the ones we hate. Just as the story is about to rip us apart, we get nice little breaks of well written humor to bring us back to life.

I don't write reviews for unfinished games but if this keeps the quality at this level, it will be one of the very rare 5* reviews I will leave.

I just finished to "play" the game and... Oh my god...
Well, I have to admit, I choose to play this game because of the idea to play as a girl (yes... a girl with a dick...)
Ok, just to talk about the sex stuff in it, only one word, excellent!

But... the story... no... the stories, backstories of those characters... the MC, Marianne, Himiko, even Hannah... and, last but not the least... Lisa... She was just a child... how was she even able to understand why her mother treat her that way...

I lost my father at 8 in a car crash (I'm now 53 and I still don't accept it...)
I was once with a woman who found her brother just like Lisa found her mother... (sadly, she did the same some years after...)
So, well... Lisa's past touched me a lot...

But what I want to say here is that this game is really different from others... I even think about playing it trying to skip all the sexual stuff and simply "enjoye" (enjoyed? is it the right word?) it...

So, I just want to say to Quadruple-Q: hey, buddy! Just go on like this, you're on the right track there! I can't wait for the next episode!

Made a compressed Android port of Having a HARD Time v0.4.1 with scrappy's multi mod.

This game already came with its own built in gestures, complete with instructions so I've left them alone. Save files are now stored in the Documents folder. This sometimes means that you may need to close and re-open the port after installing so the save folder is properly created.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the port and I'll see what I can do to get them sorted.
