I think the most infamous one is the game Acting lessons where 2 of the love interests are in the fire and the player can only save one of them. Majority of devs try to avoid stuff like that because it's not really something that players seem to enjoy. But there is already so much depressing stuff in this game that it wouldn't surprise me if the dev actually ended up killing one of the love interests. Hopefully that will not be the case because the love interest in question is actually my favorite girl in the game.
I feel you brother. And if we have the same tastes then you're also hoping for the "I can fix her" path with Seiko to be an actual thing. Also I made a meme about this whole situation

In my previous comment I was both making a joke and being serious. It would be plausible that Jane and Marianne, being the absolute geniuses that they are, found the cure for cancer in the form of semen/blood, and now Jane has that cure. It's already stated that her cum has higher chances of getting someone pregnant. Himiko has been a virgin this whole time, then suddenly she starts feeling better after she did her thing with Jane. Wouldn't even feel like the dev made her survive just cause we wanted it to happen. If she actually dies then that's the dev's choice. Yeah it would suck but we'd have to deal with it. Killing off live interests isn't necessarily bad, it's always a good plot twist and makes the story more dynamic. My only issue with doing that is when we are given no chance of saving said love interest. The dev could make it so that she dies if we ignore her, but if we put the effort in then we should be able to save her, otherwise it just feels like the entire point was watching us suffer.

And, as I said earlier

JUSTICE FOR HIMIKO

(My opinion is absolutely based, she is best girl and I will die on this hill)
I would honestly prefer if she dies there's no way for us to save her. I don't want the guilt however small of killing her even though she doesn't crack my top 10 love interests in the game.

That is indeed the only one I've played where this happens. Yes, it's a painful moment, but not a reason for me not to play that game again every couple of years. But great... it seems ep 5 will be an extreme downer then, because in ep 1-4 I can't think of any moment (except Lisa's situation) that I would say is depressing. Even the "best friend rape" after the transformation didn't end up as depressing, seeing how much she loved it.
You besides the lisa stuff, you had the stories with both the MC's and Marianne's dads that was really sad. But this update there is a very sad vibe during the whole episode. I won't spoil it since you haven't played it but besides himiko you learn more about another girl and it's really depressing as well.

Yup pretty much.

Seeing a Gauss/Warframe meme on my favourite gooner platform is a fucking wild mental whiplash.

Why even worry about Himiko?

I mean...... Himiko does have a tough disease.

But in a R-rated game where both tragedy and sitcom style exist, I see more positive other than negative.

Let's go back to ep.4, the first time we learned how frustrated and desperate Lisa was. Fortunately, Lisa now has been out of danger zone, and will be ready for the VIP of Jane's harem

You see? Nothing too serious really occurs!

The dev, as well as half the base of community, certainly knows how important Lisa and Himiko is for fan service. AND NOW I'M WAITING FOR MY LISA TO CLAIM HER LIFE AS A WOMAN

Given that porn logic has occupied as many narration as its due structure, there might be a foreshadowing for Himiko's revive in spite of her seemingly impossible dilemma. ;)

Himiko will be, and MUST be saved so as to go back to where she and her pussy belongs!:KEK:

Is there a cheat mod out there? Now our girl has a dick I can see there being some stats to change. Corruption, stamina, money etc. the console doesn't work, unless somebody knows the right parameters

To be honest, yes I would invest that time myself. I'm someone who loves to find out what kind of person was, what lead to their death, if there is imo a valid enough reason why we couldn't save them and how the aftermath will be.

An AVN is for me no different than any other genre, and we know how infamous Final Fantasy is for killing playable characters off (especially the older entries), including some love interests and we still invest time in those games. We also still invest time in movies where we know at least 1 main character will die.

That is indeed the only one I've played where this happens. Yes, it's a painful moment, but not a reason for me not to play that game again every couple of years.
Well an AVN is different in that it offers very little if any "gameplay" beyond the story and characters, sure FF has killed characters (both protags and important party characters) but its pretty disenguoous to compare a VN (porno or not) to a turn based multi disc RPG, I dont think FF has killed any "LI" in the same way because there are no "LI" in the majority of the games? The biggest one (aerith) has like a single "date" where you just talk to other people from her slum? :KEK: anything else from is from nostalgia, or supplemental martial that isnt part of the game in question

Now if after aerith (or whoever) died and you lost a large portion of the turn based battle system (losing gameplay) it would be a more direct comparison, in some ways i do agree with you that if its written well it can be good.....but that goes for everything right? If the incest/femdom or maledom/hell even NTR is well written? Theres nothing there that requires a character dying

The most infamous example (AL) is seen as such because its not really well thought out with their being issues with the scene itself (logical issues) and with how the story forces itself to get to that point, and in this games defense having it be a preexisting condition is already "much better writing" than the above example

Played again from the start for episode 5 because I couldn't remember the game too well. And I have to say: What an incredible game. Loved it from start to finish!

In episode 5 in particular I loved the amusement park with Himiko and the scene with Hannah. Especially the latter was absolutely beautiful. The game really knows how to balance the fun and the sadness, having just enough drama without taking too much of its lightheartedness away.

And I have to talk about one scene from an earlier episode as well that I actually forgot (really glad I played again from the start because of that). The revelation about Jane and Marianne's dads was an absolute gut wrencher but so beautifully done at the same time to really show what these two mean to each other. Loved it!

Really looking forward to the next episode, and I hope you really take the time you need. Stuff like this is why it is worth it to wait for a longer while.

Is Himiko going to return or even better are the MC going to her where ever she went and take her back like saying "you belong at my side so you come with me" hope so to have MC be the dramatic one
Ep 5 was a great update and perfect mix between good and bad keep it up and good luck with Ep 6

I know the conversation has veered towards Himiko QuadrupleQ if there is no way to save her I will haunt your family for a hundred generations. but I'm gonna talk about Seiko just one more time, I promise, I swear. No more Seiko talk from me after this /s
But I got a wish list for Seiko (obviously not trying to tell Q what to do, but just some things I'd love to see)
  • Glasses Seiko, a reveal that she wears contacts most of the time
  • a proper romance storyline with her, instead of purely treating her as a quick/easy fuck to release stress
  • a date with Seiko. Doesn't matter if it's something as simple as going to a movie, shopping together or just dinner
  • Seiko having more of an impact on the plot. I would honestly love if after finding out that Himiko is dying Jane is upset and Seiko is with her and innocently tells Jane she's a science whiz and surely she could come up with a cure, have Jane rebuff her, Seiko counter with the fact that Jane gave herself a fully functioning (and huge) dick through science, Jane rebuff again saying it was an accident, and Seiko displaying an unexpected wisdom by mentioning that a lot of the most important scientific discoveries were accidents
If QuadrupleQ had even just 1 of these planned I would be ecstatic
