Last time i played the game i got to the cowork club scene . downloaded the update recently. Had to start over now cant make it past the first date. Ive tried all kinds of combination of choices. Always get a game over. Am I missing a critical choice.

doing anything with jez will absolutely make u lose if u go too far for one, but there might also be a bug and you might need to start a new save.

if you're doing all options and such it shouldn't lead to a fail.
