Tight! Tight! Tight!
The hot water knob in the upstairs bathroom is another little fun detail that I found quite interesting. It made an appearance early in the game when Amelie helps drunk MC take a bath after a nightout at Mia's place with Kylee. She tries twisting the hot water knob, fails, and then tells MC to shower with cold water instead. I didn't think much of the shower knob back then...for obvious reasons.
Fast forward to the latest update and again Amelie helps drunk MC to the upstairs bathroom and yet again she tries twisting the knob and fails. At this point, Davie, drunk himself, tells Amelie that the knob is twisted shut tightly because otherwise the shower drips. This time our drunk MC twists open the tight knob, only to drench Amelie's clothes with water.
Now the point about the tight shower knob is that it brings absolutely nothing to the story and yet it adds so much reality to it. I was really impressed that a forgettable thing like this from Chapter 1 makes a callback in Chapter 10. For me, it's these easy-to-glaze-over things that make this game an absolute gem. While other devs fret over complex game mechanics or introduce diverging plotlines, etc. etc to make their in-game setting interesting and authentic. Xenorav, on the other hand, does it by focusing on the little (often overlooked) details that add character and believability to his world. The shower knob elevates the house the MC resides in from a mere playground where MC's sexual fantasies are realized to a lived-in, real home with its own mundane yet annoying problems. To add to the experience, we even get a little jarring effect to show MC struggling to turn the knob. The effect wasn't required at all, textual input would've sufficed, but its presence made it the moment so much more real.
The post above this showcases the same attention to detail with respect to lewds, but I thought it's worthy as well to turn our attention to non-lewd parts, especially the parts that are so easily lost in the background.
