One thing I don't understand clearly is if another studio remakes the Heart Problem game and keeps all the characters the same, will there be any legal complications? Maybe then the story of the game will change a bit and then everyone will be able to play it.

Doubt any dev would pick it up tbh. There's one very popular abandoned AVN and no one dared picking it up. Idk about legalities but if someone does pick this up hopefully the writing will be good and be able to keep the characters personality intact.

The occasional abandoned tag arrives once again :LUL: I just hope the surprise update won't be like "I won't be continuing this game anymore - Xenorav", please just be "Heart Problems v1.0/v0.10" :KEK:

The tough thing is that if another version comes out, you'll have your hands full...

I already posted this on another thread to a game that also got the "abandoned tag", but Ill mention it here also.

"I really wish platforms like F95 would create a system where developers are requested to share their assets, notes, story and developing data to be made public to any other developers in the event that after a year or such of no development or contact. That way maybe someone else can take these great ideas and assets to complete what was started rather than let it sit there and be snuffed out.

I know its not as easy as I wrote it or as feasible but something like this would be great for those games that often are just never got a good chance or conclusion. This is not necessarily a fault of the developers, life happens and all that but it could be something that is proposed or maybe even used as incentive when developers post their games here? Anyway, just an idea, a rough one but I'm sure you lot get the point."
Well... it's not as if Xenorav made a contract with F95, or as if they provided him the money to buy the 3D models he needed to create Heart Problems. This is piracy site after all. Even the threads here aren't made by the devs themselves, at least not by all of them.

Besides, this is just Xenorav being Xenorav. As always, he disappears for months, the ABANDONED tag arrives, and sometime later he suddenly returns with the new update and everybody gets happy. It's always the same thing with this dev and it will surely never change.

I get all this, its pretty obvious. Though what I said is an idea, or concept, how it would work, if at all would require some planning. Whether its posted here, on some other site, wherever it may be formally and officially listed to buy/support. The hosting party requesting the dev to distribute or provide the public with such data, code, assets etc to carry on production of said game in the event the dev stops developing, dies, loses interests whatever, would at least provide some tiny chance that someone else can pick it up again. I mean the party hosting it could retain the "rights" of it and potential developers can request the data and even pay a % to the original dev, there are many options I guess, many ideas that I am sure others can think of that could make something like this work. Ultimately the idea is just to keep a good game alive, some may support it others pirate it, but it doesnt change the fact the idea has some validity no?
