I like this story because it's well written, the MC acts like a man, the women are gorgeous, hot, interesting, sexy, submissive, loving, adventurous, and not jealous. I will continue to like it as long as the choices remain impactful; meaning, there are choices, at least one of which, makes the story go the way I want it to. Oh! And I don't do tragedies, which means the MC can't die, or I am able to ignore it, and pretend it never happened in any reality or alternate universe whatsoever. Jus' Sayin'

As long as the story makes sense
...and for the story to make sense, such that we really get into it, it has to be at least somewhat realistic, at least in the world in which it's set. Heaven's Door is set in a specific place in the United States, some time in the late 2010s or the 2020s (based largely on MC's car). So it needs to act like it, or at least "close enough."

And of course there are some allowances. Most notably, every attractive woman we encounter is irresistibly drawn to MC for no readily-apparent reason*--just like in every other AVN. It's a trope of the genre, and we hand-wave it away. But the more we have to do that, the less the story makes sense. If we just want a story as an excuse to get from one sex scene to another, this doesn't matter too much. But if we want to immerse ourselves in the story, there can't be too many such issues.

So, on the premise of the story: it's kind of shaky. At least from what I know of strippers and strip clubs (which is very little, and I'm just fine with that), "stripper genuinely falls in love with a customer" is a pretty rare thing. Like, something that would make unicorns look commonplace. Two strippers doing it, and each being OK with the other? That's really stretching. That they'd both do it almost immediately after meeting him? It does fall under "everyone wants MC," but it remains a bit of a stretch.

When it comes to the "treatment for MC" question, I'm entirely open to it--though I'm not a medical professional of any flavor. I know conditions of this general sort can be treatable, in many cases with very positive outcomes. The game/story even tells us it's treatable, through both doctors who talk with him about it. So why isn't MC getting treatment? I guess I'll have to wait and see, though I'd suspect it has a lot to do with what he encountered immediately after getting his diagnosis. But if we hear that MC's decided to pursue treatment, and in due course that it's been effective, that wouldn't so much as raise an eyebrow for me.

* Sure, even by the end of Ch. 1, he's given them some reasons, but Nikki and Patricia fell for him with just one evening's hanging with him in the club, and Pixie apparently with even less than that. And I'm sure it doesn't hurt that this MC actually looks like an adult.

He's young, good-looking, newly-single and makes doctor's money. :)
Well, made doctor's money. Looks like he hasn't been doing that for a few months, though apparently he has other business dealings (and does look like he has some money--a $100 tip at the diner is a bit of a clue). But they don't know that, nor that he's single (newly or otherwise).

But with a little more thought, I think a clearer and more concise summary would be that whatever world we're in needs to be consistent. Lack of consistency is what breaks the reader/viewer out of it.

Depends on the scope of it for me, I always make room for some "creative freedom" in any story. In an AVN even more so, I don't expect these Dev's to be Dostoyevsky or Shakespeare....

They'll know that he looks, dresses, and speaks like someone who's more successful than the majority of dudes there in West Bumfuck. Hell, they could probably tell just from looking at his shoes. The strippers in the hick town I grew up in sure could...

Romeo and Juliet would look very different if it was an AVN.
Romeo has the hots for underage loli Juliet, but Tybalt, her cousin gets to her first in incestous NTR, so Romeo kills him. Juliet takes lesbian comfort in the hefty arms of the Nurse before everyone dies.

Brother, he has an AE Centurion credit card :KEK: no one opts for that shit unless they have "fuck you" money, and it's by invitation only. Coral already saw it multiple times whenever he went to pay so I'm willing to bet she relayed the news/people saw it themselves. As for how he made his money... it's clearly less so off his doctor money (although it could be sizeable, surgeons make over 200k easily but that's still not enough to get an invitation for a high net worth card like that) and more off his business which he seems to be in charge of so...

1. He either founded a Pharma startup that popped off and became a highly valued business (most likely imo), or
2. Bought enough shares in an existing Big Pharma company to be able to call the shots (actually unrealistic for a young doctor, no matter how high his pay is), or the most boring possibility
3. He's an heir to his wealth. :HideThePain:
