You know there's an edit button right? :WeSmart: :ROFLMAO:

Also, for the conversation, I believe he is a specialist given the tone and dialogue of the conversation with his associate/collegue. He is obviously high up wherever he works and it hints at him being medical himself.
Yea brain tends to realize shit last second then just writes my bad.

That's how I read it at as well but it could be that he's just knowledgeable about his own disease, i guess we will have to wait to see :)

I was thinking more of the conversation with his collegue. He needed the MC's sign off in order to do something, something which happens all the time in that industry, juniors just don't have the authority depending on what is needed, it needs a senior's/specialists 'go' so to speak.

We could be barking up a tree, but I think the devs are giving just enough info without the actual need to explicitly spoon feed us information which is probably in all honesty, just not really required to tell the story.

AH! I forgot about that convo, you may very well be correct! (as usual ;) )

And he also talks to one of his employees. I would have thought General Medical doctors don't usually have employees unless they are a specialist of some sort with their own practice (but things could be different in other countries). So he might be anywhere between a highly sort after specialist or a Doctor of Mathematics.
Could be that he is a doctor by profession but is also an executive/board member at a pharma company. Because let's be real most normal young doctors are nowhere near as rich as being able to own a black card.

Did it confirm he was a medical doctor?
I can't remember and was working on the theory we didn't know yet.
Based on the medical doctor's response to him, I'm guessing he's a "McDreamy", but it's just a guess. I don't think anyone actually called him an MD.

I believe from what he said to the doctor he might have been a brain surgeon. Would explain the money probably has his own practice. I could be wrong.

I too got this impression (brain surgeon/specialist), but it was just reading (possibly incorrectly) between the lines. Was there also something about it being ironic that he had a brain tumor (or whatever it was) and that's sort of his field, or was that just the "you know that I know" bit in the screenshot quoted?

Yeah, from the way he speaks he's either a brain surgeon or has just researched his condition thoroughly.

But it would seem that Storm have just confirmed what he is ;)

he also makes a reference to him being a promising neurosurgeon at the diner... it probably wasn't a joke

Ok, that would seal the deal for sure. I guess Storm know what he's talking about :)
I swore I had already shared my theory about this here a few weeks ago, but apparently it was just in the AlterWorld Discord. :KEK:

But yeah, I have a strong suspicion that after punching the guy in the diner his "joke" about if it ruined his promising career as a neurosurgeon was only a half joke. Would make his medical situation extra shitty for him. Doctors are notorious for being bad patients sometimes too, so that could tie in to his refusing treatment.

Did I? I fail at using search in that case.

Edit:
He does say this. After punching the dude in the diner, he makes a joke about "will I ever play the violin again?", but of course he doesn't play the violin at all. The follow up is something along the lines of "but what about my promising career as a neurosurgeon?" They all of course treat it as a joke too.

Personally, I think he was only half joking. Later on at the hospital, Maddie refers to him as "Doctor" twice and makes the comment of it being "good to meet" him. That could mean nothing and she was just being polite, but seemed potentially intentional. So my speculation is that he is/was a neurosurgeon of some renown, which makes it just extra sucky to end up with an inoperable brain tumor.
Yep. No idea how I missed that in search the first time.

well if he is indeed a neurosurgeon then he knows he has bad odds. I looked it up what type of cancer this was as I had no idea. The survival rate for that type of cancer is pretty fucking bad, surgery is not an option, chemo neither. Radiation treatment may have some limited results but it's not a cure either. So yeah, if I was in his place I'd probably load up on painkillers too and live my life as best I could for what little time I had, rather than wasting away in hospitals.

About the type of cancer he has, for the first time ever, someone was determined to be cured of it early last year in an experimental treatment trial. That potentially opens a somewhat plausible path for the MC to eventually enroll in a similar trial and get lucky, if that's where Storm wants to go.

But yes, considering that so far it has something like only a 1-2% survival rate at five or more years, he may have just given up and decided not to subject himself to the harsh side effects of existing treatments that most likely would only slightly prologue the inevitable. It is worth noting that there are survivors at 10+ years, they're just very rare and often try not to get much publicity since there's sometimes survivor guilt etc.

I said this earlier, but not all stories need to have a good/fairytale ending. They could write a bittersweet story where he actually dies in the end. Would be a breath of fresh air actually if they decided to go that way. Not sure how the supporters would react though :ROFLMAO:
