It made me drop the game as well, there was a lot of potential with the father before the remake. He wasn't supposed to be a liked character, you were going to steal his wife and children from him. The fact that everyone hated him means they did a good job writing his character...and the father was obviously at the center of things going on in the story, so why they caved to the complaining just makes no sense.

It was really weird, man. One day, they were updating the game and talking about future content, and the next day they were giving us the "final update." Patrons were sayin' things like, "What? It's over? Since when?" "You guys said nothing about an ending coming up," along with many other mind-boggled statements. And that was that. It was finished, kaput, zazoom, DONE in the blink of an eye! I quit my membership on the spot at that very moment ... a lot of people did. A LOT of people were very, VERY angry, including me!

You know, you might be right, if not for one fucking thing, that removing the dad either left them stuck in a place where they saw no way to continue the game in any meaningful way or being forced to change their story and idea so much took away any drive for them to continue.
And considering how ending the game that way caused a shitstorm of a reaction, maybe you can see why some of us find it confusing they went with people whining about the dad, when it led to this.

From a story pov, unless all you want is the boring one guy fucks them all, and all the women just fall in love with the MCs cock, removing the antagonist and a central character to create tension and conflict, leaves a bland boring mess, which is exactly what the game turned into, before they dropped it.

Seriously, just play games with storylines you enjoy, instead of trying to force devs to change their stories according to your tastes.
There are hundreds of those games out there fitting to your tastes, with more coming each month, you don't NEED to demand changes in games which don't stick to the formula, JUST PLAY OTHER GAMES!!!!

This is also the exact reason the bigger devs never change their game in big ways because complaints like those about the dad. Hell, even some of the smaller devs have started to notice it could hurt development.

The amount of devs up to now that listened to complaints, changed their game, hated what the game turned into and stopped enjoying the process just to abandon it is laughably high.

I think you are just taking your porn way too seriously. I dont think changing one boring trope of MC stealing dads wife and replacing it with another does anything other than increase the number of people interested in the game, because like it or not the number of people who bitch, complain, and dont pay for NTR content is substantially higher than those that bitch, complain, and dont pay for generic harem mc games. Like...the game wasnt some narrative masterpiece before he was removed, it was the same generic story you see in literally every other mc steals mom from dad game.

People shit on these because of who makes them, but I wish we had more games like this.

Really attractive girls, really high quality renders, and just porn short stories. Not everything needs to be some expansive mass effect level story that takes 4 years to develop and is a year and a half before the first handholding scene.

Give me more games that are short contained stories with attractive characters with some sexy times.

Usually spinoffs are reserved for the originals that didn't suck. When you spin off a sucky original usually the spinoff sucks too. When it was Redfalls before all the unnecessary bullshit changes it was better than average, after it was was worse than average.

I would rather say it sucked before the change in direction and did so after as well unfortunately, so yeah they better had not changed direction as at least some enjoyed it before.

If you change direction it should always because you as a dev or dev team feel the game is not what you intended it to be. You know how a family oriented male MC game that is highly based on a sexual active antagonist that plagues players all game for story purposes will be received in certain quarters in advance unless have lived in a bubble last few years. Make the game that you want as a dev, but those choices have a consequence on who is willing to play and/or support your game ..... as goes for any other fetish or setup you choose to include as a dev. Some love it, others do not care as long as regular sex scenes and others hate it. Changing course halfway though will not tend to impress those that were enthusiastic until that moment, whatever side of the fence you are.
