The new version requires at least .NET 8.0. You can download it from Microsoft.
(The Desktop Runtime is enough, you don't need the SDK)

The old version used the .NET Framework 4.8, which was automatically installed with Windows.

The new version allows us to write cleaner and more efficient code and is also the first step towards making the game officially cross-platform. I aim to have an official Linux version by the end of the year. (Also for selfish reasons, since I'll rather switch to Linux than to Windows 11 when the support for Windows 10 ends.)
In the interim, do you know of a way to get the most recent version running on linux with wine? Installed 9.0 .net both through wine with commands as well as through winetricks and the game still yells at me to install "microsoft.NETcore.app version 8.0.0"

Really like this game and honestly havent been able to find anything close to it. Is there any and I'm just missing them?
IMO the most similar experience you will find is the continuation of Lab Rats: 2. You play as a start-up business owner making mind control serums. Hire and seduce/corrupt your employees, family, and friends. Highly recommended. My only negative for the game is that it isn't finished.
