News every week on my Patreon!^^
But if you're curious, here's the contents of my last Proof of Life post (just this once, don't expect me to post it here every time):
Proof of Life #137: Lots of small events, always more story
Heya everyone, how are you doing in this fine summer day(or winter, depending on your location)? For me, I keep working and carry my electric fan wherever I go in my apartment. Thanks to it, I can deal with the heat pretty alright and my work output has been more or less the same as always. But who cares about that? Onto the usual Monday PoL post!
Once again, it is one of those PoLs which don't contain a whole lot of info, since all I do lately is working on the story which I obviously cannot spoil^^
I'm in the middle of developing the major plot event of HC3 that I hinted last PoL. It took a bit longer getting there for 2 reasons:
1. This part of the story needs an awful lot of new maps, which all have to be done in an image editing software to maintain consistency. I've been having a blast with them, especially now that I'm not limited by the RPGMaker very barebones built-in map editor. Still, one edited map takes about 10 times longer to finish than the ones I did in HC1 or most of those in HC2.
If you're curious about what making a map looks like now, you can take a look at the second image for a sneak-peek of the map I'm currently making. See those side stairs? This would have been absolutely unthinkable in a normal map editor. Ignore the language, I still haven't figured out how to set it in English yet, so I have it in French for now.
2. I like to add stuff as I go. This time, I've had a opportunities to add new, unplanned freeroam events/sexy story events, one which you can see in the image above (there's actually a mini-scene leading to those silhouettes you can see in the windows, which helps cement one of the antagonists' personality).
So, while this update will have relatively few scenes compared to its size, it'll have a good amount of small tidbits for scenes and sexy events.
3. I test everything as I develop it. It means more development time, but far, far less spent fixing everything before the release.
As for the art, the main part, the foreground of the banner, is now done. All I need is one more illustration for the middleground, and the background. Also, out of the 4 illustrations to be added to the early game, 2 are done, and the artist told me 50% of the remaining 2 has been drawn already. I also received a few pixel art here and there to improve the game's visuals.
That should be everything for this PoL.
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful week!
