IIRC, the N_Tail doesn't want to confirm a finite number of updates so he can work without pressure.
From what I remember it was an issue while making HC2.
I'm gonna wait till all the updates are out before I start playing this one. Knowing a ballpark timeline would be nice, but I can understand why one isn't shared this time around.

Hello people from around the world, how are you doing in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? If you’ve come here to get some news about HC3, well, you’ve certainly come to the right place!
This PoL will be pretty short, as I don’t have a whole lot to say, or at least not much to say that wouldn’t be either uninteresting or outright spoilers. Quoting the famous peasant in Warcraft 3: “Work Work!”, I feel like it captures the essence of what the past week has been.
I’ve finished Rose’s scene, tested it entirely, and added it to the reminiscence room. I’ve also finished developing Cyanna’s second scene and two smaller freeroam for Haylen and Lily (as always, only if you’ve progressed their storyline far enough), plus some story here and there. As you can see, I’ve also managed to reduce the MC’s field of vision to keep a certain sense of mystery that matches being lost in a maze. Also, that way you can’t figure out the correct path right away by looking at the map, although the maze itself is pretty easy, because frustrating players certainly isn’t its main purpose.
Although I still have to test it, I quite like the new Cyanna scene. As with most scenes, it plays a role within the greater story. I’ve also added one more story choice, which now brings the amount of choices in HC3 to a grand total of 12, although no one really cares about that^^
I’m back to developing now. All that’s left is a story segment, then the extra scene and the last Rose scene almost back to back before the update is completed. I’ll see you next Monday for more juicy HC3 news!

I would say that we are already close to the climax of the story, because the duke as such already has everything he wanted to be able to carry out his plan, which although there are clues as to what it possibly is, is still partially unknown, I would say that there are still some loose ends to tie up, such as the pirates and Shanni's tribe, I say this because in the previous chapters of the game, before the villains fully realized their plans, they always eliminated any variable that could be a risk factor, and the only risk factors left for the duke, as I have already said, would be the pirates and Shanni's tribe XD.
Of course this is just my guess, maybe N_taii has some ace in his deck that we haven't seen yet XD

If you read the message from N_taii, especially the hints. Then most likely in the 19-20 update there will be something with Shanni. Probably this is the elimination and rape of Shanni. Now the pirates will be more difficult. Most likely, in the revenge ending, Leto will be with the pirates and kill the Duke, and will become king.

Something tells me Rose will pay the consequences a lot in the revenge ending, especially since she's Leto's girlfriend hahaha.

Cyanna too, since in my opinion between Cyanna and Rose there is a much stronger bond of trust between Leto and Cyanna XD that is my opinion, I don't know what the others think, the other one who is going to pay dearly and quite a bit is Haylen too because it is worth saying that Leto had already warned Haylen about Jazon and that idiot continued with her act of charity XD, of course I would also like to be done an act of charity like the one Haylen did to Jazon XD
Of course the only thing we can expect with Haylen is that Leto starts to prostitute her just like Noa did with his mother in HC2, so I guess there won't be anything shocking or amazing in the revenge ending for her.
