Proof of Life #270: Getting more daring ; )
Heya your rascals, how have you been doing this past week, and how are you doing in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? Are you ready to hear some news about HC3’s latest developments?
I’m saying “news” but, well, there isn’t much to say but I’m working on the game as always. I keep getting hit with spells of bad luck which slow down development. Three weeks ago, I had to work on getting the new version ready, then the next one I drowned in irl stuff, and I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather at the end of last week. Mostly bouts of vertigo and shaky balance, although I’m not sure what’s causing it.
I’m slowly getting closer to the second scene as we speak. It took longer than expected because the narrative segment between scene 1 and scene 2 ended up being lengthier than expected. Then, scene 2, 3 and the extra one should come in relative quick succession.
I did talk about Haylen’s classy dress last week. Well, you can catch a glimpse of it in the screenshot above, although she’s not wearing it (yet). It took me a while to get it right, and I asked the artist to remake it entirely twice. Then, I hesitated over the color, and, thanks to feedback I received, I settled on light purple. With that, I’ll probably end up using it more than once, but I’m not 100% sure yet.
This update’s quest might feel like part one of a bigger quest, with part two continuing in the next and last Haylen-related quest. It’s hard to explain without spoiling, but you’ll probably figure it out once you play it ; )
I’ll be also commissioning a special illustration for this update. Not a lewd one, but a story-related one like we’ve seen before, the ones on brown paper.
That’s about all I had to say for this week! Please don’t ask me when the next update will be out, I’m not sure yet. I’ll keep you updated for sure~

I just want to say, I really do appreciate NTR games with a singular antagonist. Part of is I really don't like sharing, but more importantly, I like gradual corruption and focus on 1 storyline. H-scenes having a better sense of progression, especially on milestone moments, just make the NTR hit way harder.
Also sad to see the Dev get hit with unlucky bug after wanting to make more frequent updates. Hope N_tail takes care and doesn't push himself, whenever I read a dev pushing their selves to get an update out, I always feel bad.

Agree with that. It's also my preference. But I understand there are also a lot of people who prefer scenes with multiple participants, or the women being shared around. That's why I sometimes sprinkle a few scenes in that vein in the game, and also why I'm planning on two branching endings within the NTR ending, one focused on sharing, and the other one individual antagonists.
I'm doing fine work-wise, although the delays seem to pile up for the Haylen update, lots of irl stuff. I spent the entire Friday evening at the ER instead of working. Nothing big though, I just suddenly lost 90% of my hearing in my right ear after doing some intense cardio and got worried, but they didn't find anything and my hearing's back now.

Really appreciate your consideration of players preferences towards later scenes. I, personaly, really liked the scenes in HC2 when Zeno and his son sharing their bitches lmao, that was peak HC content for my taste.
Looking forward to something like this in HC3.
Yeah, you can't please everybody, specially as your games grows more in audience. What really prompted my comment is playing Japanese NTR games, I just feel like a lot spread themselves too thin by having so many antagonists. It's fine if they don't go full singular antagonist, but I feel like it they can cut some or even half and just make longer story lines.
Well hopefully it was really nothing and everything works out. Appreciate the work and will be patiently waiting for next update, and steam release.
Well consider yourself lucky, at least eardrums can heal if it's just from an injury. Go easy on it though, you might break something else if you overdo it.

Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts / preferences regarding villainification / moral corruption of NTR-d girls? Henteria Chronicles Ch 2 is one of the harder NTR stories out there, but I always found it interesting how the girls never really actively humiliate/hurt/work against the protagonist. Are you not a fan of the kinds of stories where the girls become antagonists themselves?
It's why the part after the initial corruption always tends to be my favourite part. Having the now corrupted girl work against the protagonist, subverting the other women around him, humiliating and working against him with or without his realising they are doing so, forcefemming and enslaving, that kind of thing has always been the cruellest and best part of NTR in my eyes.
Just curious here, as that's my area of interest with NTR, so I find it fascinating when other people have other main interests with it. What do you think about this sort of thing?
It's not exactly my thing, to be honest, but it isn't the only reason I don't add it in my games.
First of all, I think the NTR doesn't hit as hard if the women turn into evil bitches. It just feels like the MC actually dodged a bullet by having them taken away from him. It also undermines every other ending that's not NTR, especially if the verbal attacks and meanness happen before said endings. Hard to justify a happy ending when the women have been expressly trying to belittle and hurt the protagonist before. The last, and most important reason, is that it would make little sense. I'm aiming at semi-realism in my games, or at least as much realism as one can have in a NTR games. The heroines have never been shown as mean and cruel before, and the MC has never done anything to deserve being angry at, besides being somewhat dense. Unless they take some kind of personality-altering potions or something (which I try to avoid as much as I can), then villainification wouldn't make much sense.
At best, I think they could grow colder and more emotionless in general, which could impact their relation with the MC to a certain degree, but that's it.

I agree, and I also think that there are things that can be considered cruel on their part but are still forgivable in a future happy ending, like kissing Leto with the post-sex mouth, I think it makes for a good humiliation/cruelty against the MC, but it hasn't yet passed the point of being impossible for a happy ending.
To be honest, while that kiss was suggested to me and I only added it in as a result, I never saw it as an act of voluntary sexual humiliation. Rose, being used to the taste of cum in her mouth by then, has forgotten about it as she desperately try to cheer her beaten boyfriend up with a kiss. That's the way I interpreted it.

Heya folks, how are you doing in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? Whatever it is, I'm going to make it better with some risky yet tasteful... close contact between Haylen and Jazon?
Some of you might be confused by that image, but the idea is that it is a ballroom with balconies on each side, on which Leto is standing. It is the same map that was used in the main stroyline when Leto dances with Rose. In the screenshot above, the balconies have been made transparent so players can see what's going on below, but Leto above obviously cannot. The partial PoV has the balcony remain opaque with only a few sounds here and there but no dialogue.
I also must be one of the only people to censor clothing while keeping the nudity.^^ Still, I want to keep some mystery around Haylen's outfit and not spoil it, so I added that black circle on top.
Anyway, I've made some progress during last week, and I'm almost finished with the second scene, but I'm still quite behind schedule. I was still a bit sick last week, and I even had to make a quick trip to the ER when my right ear started to ring and I lost 90% of my hearing there after some intense cardio. All in all, they found nothing and it's now back to normal, but I've wasted an entire evening I could have spent working on the game instead.
One other reason for the slow development is that the scenes are... quite complex, sometimes involving more than two people, which implies a lot more animations and a lot more work on the sound to accomodate all the voices and ambiant sounds. I also feel like the scenes themselves are longer than usual, but that could just be me.
Anyway, I'm going to keep working to get the enw update out as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!
