Welp, another pick from the backlog, another post of dubious sanity. I suppose it fits more than usual, given that this game has a sanity value and all that. XD Leaving that aside for the moment, I have to say that there's just something about zombie apocalypse stuff that I really enjoy when it's mixed with H-games. I dunno why. Maybe because stuff like RE have made monsters as part of it all. Maybe it's because of the desperation such situations induce. I think everyone can agree that an apocalypse of any kind will have tensions and emotions running high, making it all the more easy to have people take the kind of dubious decisions that lead into NTR.
This is hardly the 1st game to tackle the idea of a NTR game happening in a Zombie apocalypse, I imagine a lot of people can think of at least a couple of other games with the theme, and that's without counting the silliness present in Seed of the Dead 2. By that same token, to date, I can't think of a single game that was really amazing as a NTR game using this idea.
So how does this game rate? Well... I like a number of the ideas here, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired... though some of that is for subjective preference reasons. However, there's some things that can't be ignored no matter what you do. The first one is the fact that the translation is pretty bad. Not outright horrible, but definitely bad. I couldn't say if this was edited MTL of some kind, or just the result of a poor grasp of the English language, but I'm pretty sure that some human involvement happened given some of the errors. Also the fact that some dialog that isn't text messages on the phone ends up formatted like text massages with "U okay?" and other such things.
The other major problem is the bugs, or possibly questionable design decisions in some cases. Like the fact that you can escape from battle instantly by right-clicking the mouse, and in certain areas of the game, this instantly defeats whatever you were fighting. Or the fact that the gallery room goes nuts sometimes, or collision disappears in said room or scenes that you view in it. Or the inconsistent sanity damage when fighting zombies. Or the fact that you can train at the shooting range even when you didn't buy any bullets... Or the fact that the game mentions that there should be zombies in the hills where you can collect steel or whatever, but none spawned... There's all sorts of large and small bugs that make things questionable, and I doubt I've seen all that there is to be seen.
At the end of the day though, between these two major sets of issues, the game can be difficult to enjoy.
Another pet peeve for me personally is the fact that the game is... rather inconsistent about showcasing the wife's perspective in the gallery. Some scenes have everything that the MC didn't see, especially early on, and some scenes just don't make an effort and show very little, particularly later on in the game.
I suppose it's also worth noting that the game's progression for the wife's corruption is... weird... It feels like the game has her go from zero to turbo-slut way too fast, even given the circumstances they're in. By that same token, it's not particularly difficult to protect her as long as you understand how the game works... and as long as some RNG doesn't bite you in the ass. The game is pretty great about warning you about events that'll get her fucked stupid... though the way it does so is pretty ridiculous in some cases. The thing with the beggar and the gas-mask was absurd, and so was the whole fortune-teller gimmick.
The whole thing is initially designed to be difficult because of limited resources and a time limit that you don't know, but which the MC fears to exist. Even without his fears, everyone's well aware that supplies are limited, so a time limit absolutely exists even beyond the nebulous fears of the MC. It's really hard to manage resources if you're actually trying to protect the wife, though it's not as hard as it could be. However, a lot of that difficulty goes out the window if you manage to build up the casino fast and start relying on the earnings they grant you (300 resources a day), and if you have the patience and/or the luck to exploit the gambling and make a bunch of money. (Or just save-scum to speed things up, though at that point, you could also just cheat money) Also, as long as you spend time with the wife to reduce her lust/corruption, you CAN have her work at the bar from time to time, which smooths things out quite a bit too.
Basically, as long as you play things smart and don't rush more than you need too, it's pretty simple to get the True Ending, not necessarily easy, but fairly simple. Though, admittedly, the only reason why things were relatively smooth for me on my 1st playthrough was because I'm nuts and collected extras for the 1st and 2nd type of material, which makes it trivially easy to open the casino early, since you just have to buy the electronic components then.
What I'd have liked to see for this game is a random element in terms of what the wife does and where. There's tons of rooms and areas all over the safe-zone that are darkened and stuff, but the game doesn't make use of any of them. On top of that, scenes aren't repeatable at all as far as I can see, even though the escalating corruption implies that they were. The whole thing would have been a lot more fun if the wife could appear in various places on the map doing lewd stuff with Inoshita whenever her hubby left her home alone or sent her to the bar or whatnot. It's honestly too bad that her progression of "at home" Inoshita events is purely linear with no variation.
The last thing I'll mention that bothers me is that the art for the H-scenes seems inconsistent at times. I'm not sure if drafts were left in or something, but some scenes seem to have drastically lower quality.
Finally, the story... The story is nothing worth writing home about tbh. Typical RE-style zombie apocalypse silliness, with an evil company causing the apocalypse and the MC and his wife being forced to deal with it, discover the truth, and try to survive. All while the random big dicked fat ass keeps trying to get in her panties, and she keeps letting him get away with weird shit even before before her lust escalates and overtakes her. (Seriously, that early groping and blow-job scene makes no sense... but I loved the ones for the missing antibiotic and the elevator, even though I wish they had more effort put in the wife's perspective...)
All in all, the game ends up being "just ok", even if I were to discount the whole thing with the crappy translation. If the dev fixed all the bugs and added some extra effort in how the H-stuff happens and is distributed so to speak, then the game could be great, maybe even amazing. Sadly, I doubt that's gonna happen seeing as the dev is working on a spin-off for what's basically a bad ending on top of a whole new game entirely, and then supposedly a sequel to this game involving a whole other couple... Hopefully, those projects end up with better and more consistent translations at the very least.
