It's the kind of thing you say to a friend if he does something that's extremely dumb, llike try to skateboard down a vertical slope or approach a pretty girl by telling her "You got rockin' tits babe".


I would advise GPT over Google, by the way. GPT's a lot better with turns of phrase and can probably more easily translate casual speech, rather than being focused on sort of formal, official type stuff. I think mechanically Google is better, but not by a lot and not for this.

What he means is that people with a talent to do very specific things, sometimes lack the ability to operate outside of a defined environment.

If you are following a tutorial, you have a guideline, your talent will show how good can create something in a very specific situation. Think homework exercices when you were at school. (it's not because you can solve an equation where the answer is already known that you are a genius mathematician).

The issue arrives when the tutorial ends. Where do you want to go? Do you have a plan? Have you already thought about your organisation? Can you plan ahead? Can you offer gameplay and a story that is good enough to satisfy players, and without doing an exact copy of what has already be done?

Everyone can use an AI image generator. Not everyone can obtain good result.

Everyone can write a short story that goes with said image. Not everyone can write a good story.

But it's not because you have an character and a story that work good together that you can reproduce it on a bigger and more global scale. And don't forget this is a game, you have to add some gameplay elements to the mix.

I'm not saying EdgeAI lacks all of this, I sure hope they will be able to continue their projects, but the whole point is that it's not because they managed to present something that looks good and work, that it is representative of their talent in general or their ability to complete a large project by themselves.

Lack of communication in itself is bad when you are trying to sell a project. Most indie game dev give regular updates on their project, even if it's to say "I hit a wall, update will be delayed"
