With Sera I actually traced over her old standing image. The main change is her skin tone and lipstick. I was experimenting with purple because in some CGs it worked. I'll probably go back to dark brown like it used to be at first.

Mars is not black. He's originally quite pale, all demons of noble heritage are white since they live underground.
Canonically, Mars tanned his skin because he would rather be mistaken for a lowborn human, than a noble human. It helps him fit in better in the more populous cities, even though his height makes him stand out easily.

Mars is that color, because the game originally was supposed to be a NTR legend ripoff.
But as I was writing the story, I included that subversion.

Also, the BBC thing is totally a western thing that is now influencing some japanese artists due to twitter and fan commissions.
The standard Japanese NTR guy is the ugly bastard or the tanned playboy. Mars mimics the second form obviously.
I honestly only care about Japanese tropes, and mimicking Japanese games/VNs that I enjoyed.

The tanned playboy is tanned because it implies that he spends time outside hitting on girls. This is why in doujins they're often put in beach scenes.

I'm not Japanese, my intended audience are people familiar with Japanese H games. Mainly because that's what I consumed and that's what I understand. If it also appeals to some people who aren't familiar with Japanese games, then that's great. Works for me.

Using weebspeak is cringe unless the game is set in Japan. The events in the game take place on a planet different than Earth entirely. And the events are set in NotMedieval europe given the characters' European names. This aspect will be explained as the story progresses as well.

Thanks for the spoilers. Nice to see there is a reason for the stereotypical NTR guy look other than being what a NTR guy usually looks like. Using certain Anime and H-Game tropes is fine but giving good reasons for their existence in the story is great.

Anybody even remotely familiar with Japanese NTR/netori games is going to immediately recognize what this is inspired by. Even if you aren't that familiar with them Mars is such a typical Japanese NTR surfer dude it really should be pretty apparent at just a glance.

It seemed pretty damn obvious from the first time I played through that this was based on Japanese NTR games. Unless you're completely unfamiliar with those games I can't see how someone wouldn't pick that up.
