I feel like there are a ton of bugs
The heroine data starts out filled, and the guy who researches them has all the info if you talk to him, yet then goes and tells you the info like its new.
The girls are in the wrong outfits in many places.
I lost the first fight after using the catapult but got a H scene of the grunts fucking her as if we won, only to state you see we stand no chance. Scene was Combatant stage 1
Very confusing first few minutes that leave me thinking the game is totally broken.
The grunts thing is not a bug tho, just not explained properly. Every girl has a list of things you can do to her to get 1/2 and 2/2 versions of the scene name, and those scenes are caused by using a specific skill that the monsters have (which is why in the lab near the monster name you can see the heroine reccomendation and if its battle/out of battle/after capture. With latter two its somewhat obvious but battle one requires you to use monsters signature skill in battle (2 times in total for each of the 3 needed monsters, 3rd one is ALWAYS grunt fighter), afte which heroines loss scene will be played whether or not you could realistically defeat her. Every time you do that her stats will be decreased for every further duels, and then you just beat her up building a prison beforehand. Btw dont be afraid of using skills that are at 2/2 already, they will not bring you immeadiate victory like before but their effects still might be usefull, like tickling monster's stun for example.

You dont have to do scenes in any specific order tho, so its better to start with out-of-battle corruption events to reduce the chances of needed monsters being oneshotted in battle before they can use the skill

Man, the music for the home base is really annoying with how the droning sound constantly shifts between the left and right channel

This is what I picked out of my functionally endless backlog this time around. In truth, the art-style for this particular game just has something about it that makes it rather meh to my personal tastes, so normally, it'd have stayed in said backlog longer... but some convos about this being "Antidomi, but worse" made me curious enough to give it a look. I figured I might as well see how much of that is true, and if the comparison is even worth making in the 1st place.

I'll start with that bit by saying that, quite frankly, the similarities are way too thin to be worth making. This game, made in RPGM, focuses on its gameplay and as much freedom of action as it can grant above all else. Now, I'm not saying it did a good job of things, that for later, but I am saying that the way it works and is intended to work is different from Antidomi, which is really more of a VN with some gameplay tacked on. This game tries to be focused on being a game and its gameplay, while Antidomi is focused on its storytelling and smut above all else, so comparing them directly isn't really worth it tbh. The only real similarity is that the they're both games about evil organizations fighting transforming heroines, but that's it really. Can't compare every H-game with magical girls in it just because it's with magical girls, this is the same thing.

So, now that that's out of the way, this game! How is it?

Well, quite frankly, even trying to account for my bias caused by the lack of interest in the art-style, I feel like the best description for this game is aggressively mediocre. While I don't expect every H-game out there to be innovative or anything, I generally do expect people to make some kind of effort somewhere. However, this doesn't feel like it was the case here and it's visible early on. You can see it from the intro, where the MC of the game "Awakens" to supernatural powers, splatters some dude into chunky salsa with said dark powers, and then immediately becomes the boss of an Evil organization... and that's it.

There's no follow up to any of that. The dude's powers are literally a one-off and you don't even get any darkness skills or anything out of it. There's no explanation about anything. The guy doesn't have any kind of personality, presumably for self-insert purposes, but the game doesn't give you any options to question anything either. It's just "Ok, you're Evil now, go get those bitches!"... and that's it. Is he the son of the Demon King? Some experiment? A clone? No idea. Also, why he needs to use a gun when he can apparently splatter people with his mind or something... no idea. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that you need stuff like explosives to turn people into blood and meat soup, so a gun shouldn't be anywhere near the same level...

The trend continues after this on every level tbh. We get nothing about the Heroines aside from their names and some habits and whatnot, and only just barely enough to allow for certain specific H-scenes. There's almost nothing about their personalities, there's nothing about their lives, there's nothing about why they're heroines or how they feel about anything. There's no explanation why they're fighting evil organizations...

Don't get me wrong, I don't expect a novel of background detail or anything, but even old ONEONE1 games do a much better job explaining who's who and why they're doing what they're doing. It's not that hard to put in something generic.

This matters because the same level of effort is put into the H-scenes themselves and how they're organized. Each girl has a number of scene, and each scene has two levels, though in quite a few scene, the difference between lvl 1 and lvl 2 is minor at best. What's worse though is that there's no real sense of progression and that there's no connection between scenes in any way. The girls getting raped one day don't react any differently to any subsequent rapes, and this is made worse by the fact that the in-combat stuff only requires the use of an ability on the girls. You can literally rape one of the girls on Day 1 if you're lucky enough for the combatant dude to survive until he can use his ability, which can happen if the girl misses her attack, because that's a thing that can absolutely happen.

Furthermore, there's no reaction to the captures, there's no change in town... nothing really tbh. It makes the whole thing somewhat unsatisfying, as if they're just random girls and no one even noticed that they're missing. You don't even get reactions from the population when you corrupt them. The most you get is a reaction from the remaining girl(s) if you bring a corrupted one to the fight and they're kind of eh about it, it's ridiculous.

One particularly good example of how lazy things are is with Haruka, who has this childhood friend that likes her. He only exists for the purpose of those 2 scenes. He has no reaction to anything, you can't bring the corrupted Haruka over to show her off or make her kill him or something to showcase just how thorough the brainwashing is... Nothing. He exists for those 2 scenes and that's it. Like the dev was looking for an excuse to add in the NTR tag but couldn't be assed to properly account for the fetish.

The game doesn't even actually feature corruption tbh. The girls are just plain mind-controlled. Based on the description, it seems like they're subjected to identity death and something else is put in their heads... but by that same token, the game is inconsistent about some things. Like, one scene implies that the transformed Haruka didn't remember her Hero days or ever being a Hero, while another has her commenting on things that she knew from them... It's just bad.

In general, I can't recommend this game for its story, because in many ways, it lacks even the bare minimum.

The gameplay isn't much to write home about either. You have days split in 4 periods, and some actions make time pass, while others don't. Specifically, deploying to fight a heroine or triggering an H-scene makes time pass, but fighting mook enemies in town, building facilities, creating monsters or messing with gear doesn't take up any kind of time slot. Neither does sending the mooks to make money once per day btw. It's also worth mentioning that there's an intel guy too, but all he really does is tell you the conditions for triggering the pre-capture H-scenes, and it doesn't take research or time or anything to find out.

It gets even worse. Non-combat related H-scenes become available immediately after building a facility or recruiting the correct monster without any kind of effort. Buy the bath-house stuff? On the same day, you can go after blondie there and see the scenes, as long as you're in the correct time-slot. No effort, no set-up, noting. Really boring tbh. Earning money is effortless. The passage of time doesn't matter as far as I can tell. There's no consequences to taking your time with nabbing the girls, the time counter is entirely pointless.

Then there's the fights. The fights are basic bitch RPGM stuff without any kind of spice whatsoever. Well, I suppose the thing about triggering scenes and then ending battles with a single ability kind of counts... except all that means is that you can't use those abilities with the specific heroine, as that makes it impossible to capture her in that run. So you still have to fight them the basic bitch way at least once and beat them. I suppose it's worth nothing that as you trigger H-events, the girls start getting debuffs, but it's nothing particularly interesting tbh, just stat debuffs and a reduction in HP...

What's kind of dumb about it all is that on Normal difficulty at least, by the time you do get all of the girls debuffed and all of the in-battle scenes triggered, there's a good chance that the MC could solo them anyway. Why? Well, the game's money income is all tied to the MC's level, and the best way to move fast in any game that requires spending money is to improve the economy, which means that you have a very high incentive to just lvl-up the MC over and over with money and just use natural XP from mook enemies for the other monsters... and that's enough for the base game. You don't ever need to level-up the other monsters with money. Hell, the only reason why you may want too for the DLC is because the mooks are replaced there and they don't give XP anymore.

TBH, I don't know if mooks giving XP before the DLC is a bug or not... XD

About the only thing I can sort of praise about this game is that it's not, strictly speaking, grindy. While you do have to beat all the mooks around town to keep the money flowing fast during the base-game, at least until you've captured all the girls, you also generally have at least 1-2 H-event available per day, without needing to repeat any of them unless you really want too. So you don't really have the monotony of major grind sessions or whatnot. Just wack-a-mole a few weaklings 1st thing in the morning, start investing money, do the deploy against 1 of the girls and start watching as much smut as you can trigger in a day. Easy and simple.

In that aspect, I suppose this game IS better than some others out there, because the flow from smut to gameplay is pretty smooth, and this doesn't break in the DLC either. Hell, if you thoroughly invest in the MC properly during the base-game, you won't need to beat mooks almost at all in the DLC. It's only worth doing so you can see the extra combat-rape scenes using the special skills you can get on the girls. Aside from that, deployment against the NEET heroine and mook send-offs will be enough, and you'll likely run out of things to do with money anyway before you run out of H-scenes to watch.

Of course, if you fall into the trap of trying to spend money on lvl-ing monsters before you're done with the MC's lvls, then there's a chance that you'll make the game harder on yourself and end up taking much longer to beat it than one might expect.

Ah, I suppose I should also note one thing about the H-scenes... The split between scenes for the heroines is... weird... and absolutely lazy. For example, all girls have Jail H-scenes where they're supposedly made an example of for the population, but then Haruka doesn't have a "Torture" scene, and she's also the only one to have a milking scene even though blondie originally has bigger boobs than her. There's a lot of lazy stuff like that where you'd think you could subject multiple girls to a thing, except you can't for no reason whatsoever.

Quite frankly, there's a lot of things I could comment on, questionable design decision that seriously make me wonder what the dev was thinking... but it's not really worth the effort tbh.

All in all, this game is an ok time-waster, but not much else. It doesn't really have a story. It's H-scenes lack substance and don't go particularly crazy with any one fetish, so you can't really pick this up for any specific fetish either, except rape I suppose. The gameplay is generic without any real spice or even an attempt at spice to it. So on and so forth. As is often the case, there was potential here, but there was no effort made to bring out said potential, even a little.

I don't like dealing with that tiny-ass review window, nor am I fond of being forced to put a number on the game just to review it. Even if I DID want too... well...

I can't. I'd have to edit it to remove any mention of Antidomi because of reviewing rule 2:

"Do not mention games from other developers in your review, this is to prevent cross promotion."
From https://f95zone.to/threads/review-rating-rules-updated-2024-12-01.1753/

I don't make the rules, I just respect them and occasionally bitch about them.
