why is Komi refusing to update the other Sites, but posts replies on itch.io?
Oh he used to reply here, if you go back you'll see him actively engaging with users in the thread. IIRC, it was shortly after the thread was officially marked "abandoned" he stopped replying, because I remember him being sarcastic about the labeling. However people weren't letting Komi get away with perpetually claiming to be working on the game, with only scant and random update screenshots as proof.
If you notice, all the itch.io comments are positive and dont mention the literal years between updates. In fact, hes acting like the Christmas update was recent, and not something he released over two years ago. It also wasn't (hence the "B" in the version number) Update 1.3, which was first teased Janurary. Of 2021. He has changed to stating hes "reworking/revamping" the game instead, but the two year anniversary of claiming 2.0 was on the way will be this October.
I know he doesnt have full control here, but I dont know how much curation power he has over the comments on itch. I don't use the comments there, so I can't say whether or not he's deleting negative comments or not. He does have a high rating on both sites, with thousands of reviews. HHG is continually recommended to people on itch, I know that for sure. It might just be a revolving door of new users discovering the project for the first time.
I cant blame him for not wanting to get dunked on repeatedly, but I can blame him for only interacting with sycophants and people who don't know any better.
