After not playing this VN for a year to two years I can't seem to get back into it. I also find myself not enjoying VNs with multiple paths because all I keep thinking about is what am I missing out on. I do not like replaying games often so it kind of sucks.
I will say this works for the story not against because it is a trigger for the MC and his trauma , knowing how he failed in the past. It is a part that making him want to project the llyods no matter what.

To be fair she is 18......young, but not too young. They had to make her young enough to not make her sister being in college seem weird and old enough to not make it gross.
Honestly, I have more trouble with the pacing. This game has so many misunderstandings and misdirects to spread the plot, but it spreads it way too thin. Why name both girls Emma? Why not hire both the female he recommended to stay there and the man to help with things? She's not hard up for money...after being assaulted so many times, WHY WOULD YOU STAY THERE?!?!
At a certain point she's have to realize its the industry shes in...but nope. Also this is clearly written by someone that just believes other men would ignore women being assaulted in public. It also assumes she would tell a complete stranger model she just met how models get treated and neither of her daughters. I do like this game, but man does it have moments.
The whole thing does only really work if youre able to shut your brain down while reading. The whole mc killing the detective storyline was way more of a brainfart but its a similar cause.
Its like the story and the other characters (men) are forcefully designed to showcase the mc's awesome whiteknighting no matter how much logic, realisim or character design have to bend for that goal. The whole thing with one of the most wealthy and influential persons in the world/industry aka charlotte being a !entirely! defenseless victim against any fucking man walking around without this one guy (our mc) is already super dumb tbh.
This women would simply have a army of highly professional bodyguards. It would be one thing if she was only rich, but shes rich AND super charismatic and connected.
Bending the logic entirely to make a character look awesome happened this update too, just charlotte in this case.
The whole college fashion show cheating plot was just so hilariously dumb. Uuuhuhh what a masterplan to require the fashion designers to showcase their dresses with professional models (which is so dumb in itself in college) when the girlswho meant to have a disadvantage due to the trickery has the worlds most famous model as mom and the number 2 or 3 (kayla) sitting as fan there .................
......... this is so dumb and ONLY designed like that to make charlotte look awesome despite all logic
Yet i still liked the scene, charlotte looked awesome and i managed to not think too much about it until know
tldr: dont take the story, logic and realism too serious. Its a self insertion whiteknight/simp romance story but its still entertaining.
I don't see how Emma will ever be a love interest. It feels like the author kind of wrote themselves into a corner when creating her in the sense that she's more like a child than a teenage girl. I kind of think this story would have been better serviced if Charlotte was the only LI and Emma was her much younger daughter instead of an extremely naive teenager.
I mean you should probably check out other VNs sometime
Emma could be 14 and it would all still be fair game for her. If you keep the references subtle and her model doesn't change Patreon would not even give a shit. They only lose their shit if step or adopted or cousins and such.
So thinking that at 18 she could not be a LI is extremely self-absorbed as you know many, many others (including the dev) obviously feel the opposite.
The story would be better served if Emma was the only LI because Char is damaged and suffers PTSD, and Suzi She-Hulk is too sick with Gamma Rads.
See you can see how that previous statement mirrors yours but maybe you can see now how useless they both are??
Honestly I really liked Charlotte in this update. It feels like she might be getting over some of her issues with the MC and we can move forward and start some good romance segments with her in the next update or 2. If I recall she kind of pulled back some after initially giving the MC a kiss at the end of Ch 14 but in this update she kissed him twice and letting the MC touch her a little more than normal. So it for sure feels like a step in the right direction for her and now she thinks Jason is dealt with will put her mind as ease as well.

She is literally written (for unknown reasons given her sister is nothing like that) like a twelve year old....and yes, Patreon would have a huge fucking problem with it. Wtf are you actually on about?
Her age has nothing to do with anything, her personality and mental age does and while popular (sorry Joshy), even I don't have a save for her because it just feels all sorts of fifty shades of weird and wrong.
The pace of updates unfortunately is too slow. I think the game is good but we're moving at a snail's pace. I like slow burns but without more frequent updates, I won't live long enough for the slow burn to turn into something hot.
just depends on your mindset. I don't need a sex scene to be " hot" to find it hot or be turned on. The context of a scene , build up and relationship of a character is often times enough for me to find some hot and get turned on , even if a sex scene is lacking.

To me, the game is still good, but it's also clear that it has problems in the last few years where the dev is having trouble with how to move the game forward that it is not anywhere as good as it could've been.
I think the biggest issue is the decision to have Charlotte and Emma as the main 2 characters in the game but also setting them so far back in terms of relationship with MC at the start (Charlotte hated men, and Emma was 200% clueless about guys) that it'd require so much time to move them forward. Added with the slow burn approach, the overall relationship didn't progress much when compared to the game's 4 years of development despite the quite meaningful story progression. Most people would play the game for the romance/relationship and not the plot about criminals so the slow burn feels really really really slow. Up to this latest update, Charlotte is still only at the "can I trust MC?" stage.
I genuinely think that the dev simply doesn't know how they can move the relationship forward because of what the game has committed to.
This doesn't even take into consideration how Suzi is so neglected that she's even further behind and still stuck at the "MC is a perv, I don't trust him and I don't understand why Charlotte and Emma like him" stage.
The game should have ended with this update but it's incomplete, right? Or the update is just incomplete but the story continues? I didn't really understand, I haven't played Hillside for 2 updates.

Except to get on Suzi path you need to say no to Charlotte, Lucy, Emma, Kaylah, Agent Fox ... -- i.e., impossibru!
I am still holding out hope that Lucy will be the keymaster to the secret Lloyd harem path. Show interest in her (but don't kiss her) while also showing interest to Charlotte, Suzi, and Emma but NOT Kaylah and Agent Fox. Lucy has no problem flashing MC in front of Charlotte and Emma (kinky!), sleeping nude with Charlotte, and she asks Suzi whether she has any feelings for MC before she moves in while still being interested in MC, so she has no problem sharing. And we know that Charlotte, Emma, and Suzi all need a white knight ...thus by the logic of AVNs = incest harem non-canon epilogue kthxbye
