Why doesnt he just add one week to his expected release date to give himself some breathing space. I think this would help himself and keep people happy. But maybe im wrong?

He could but sometimes one week is not enough. And it could be also uneffective depending on the person.
I can see at work developers thriving under small or moderate pressure (even heavy pressure for small amount of time) and others seeing their effectiveness halved. It truly depends on the individual.

A (probably) good idea would be to try all methods (more project management, more time, and no deadlines) and see which one works well for him. In the meantime, reminding him of our support is cheap (free in fact) and easy. (that goes for every creators not just DB)

Well yeah. So the art has to be created. The animations have to be produced. The story has to be written. But in the end it all has to be embodied in code.

What I say now is not directed at you or anyone else in this thread. Most people simply do not understand how big and challenging a task it is to create the most simple of VNs. This is NOT a simple VN. The consumer market for these VNs has matured. It has very demanding expectations.

So yes in the end once all the parts are complete, the code has to pull it all together. The last phase of delivery is indeed a "programmer thing" and I can tell you it's by far the most unforgiving part.

Damn, I keep coming home at night hoping to see an update listed, I have no issues with the slow burn as I am encapsulated by the story! I honestly can't figure out how you can have sex with anyone in the game without it being detrimental to your relationship with Charlotte...

About patreon, I have spent money on over 25 creators in the last 5 years, probably 23 of them abandoned their games taking $100 to $200 ea of mine to Davy Jones Locker... Nowadays, if I pledge it is either to devs that charge only when they release or after 2 months of nothing I drop their patronage! I know that porn games are different but I can buy a ps5 game for $40-$70 and get untold hours of enjoyment out of them, yet I do understand that I have never pulled my dick out while playing any version of GTA...
(well maybe in some of the flamethrower scenes, I may have gotten hard ... )

Yes, I can understand the disappointment about the update not appearing, I was also very much looking forward to it.
I also understand the disappointment that when you support developers, the project is delayed forever or even abandoned.

I know this only too well!

But I can also understand that projects get delayed and release dates can't be met.
To stay with your comparison with the Playstation game, it is unfortunately the case here that there are no large development teams behind the games. As a rule, most games here are developed by individuals or small teams. That makes for longer development times and, unfortunately, sometimes also for a developer to give up his project.

I have decided to continue to support developers, but I limit myself to a few games that are really close to my heart, and I just hope that they will not be abandoned....

I understand that, and even with patronage you want to see something coming from the money you gave, that's normal.

But at leat be at ease on this subject : DarkBlue is not abandonning his game, nor putting it on hold or taking a break, he is working on the update and if I was a betting man, I'd bet he's working overtime on it. Hillside is not about to be abandonned, do not worry about that.

It's all good, I love this game, I've bought into the slow burn, I'm just jonesing on a new fix bad! There are a couple others that make me crazy like Light of My Life, WVM, & BaDIK... I made my point clear on pledging though! It's not about pirates whining about milking cause who gives a shit about them (put your money where your mouth is) I used to send money to this game and while it isn't lost yet, my previous point still stands...

No offense ? Really ? You might want to pick up a dictionary once in a while to check the meaning of words you're clearly unequipped to understand. Try to also find a course about "how to interact with people" because I have a fealing that you slept through that one during your basic education.

The game is slow but the plot is very good, each character has a profile and a very clear personality, which 99% of other games cannot do, the graphics are also very nice, I especially like the character Emma, except Her figure and personality are just perfect, in summary I rate this game much higher than Dating my daughter (for me the girl image in DMD game is a failure with short height and large breasts. makes her look more like a dairy cow than an innocent girl, and her eyes don't look gentle or innocent at all, a kind of female characterization that fails- at least for me, the game That's what DMD is). With this Hillside game, the author is very successful when building the daughter character from the body, breasts, face to eyes and personality all very suitable for a shy innocent girl.
Thank you for giving me a great relaxing game during this stressful covid season, maybe except for the slow update of the game, there is nothing to complain about the game content and the women in the game ( a very rare thing for me ).
