The scene probably doesn't end in defeat, given that you seemingly can succeed the honor check, so adding a "defeated" screen to a literal open ending is just a waste at best and a misleading action at worst. Given how you react I can see you dumping the game after seeing the defeat screen, too.

The game ends there, for now. There is nothing the developer added, that the player can interact with at least, after that scene. Wait for the update if you have the mental capacity to or drop the game entirely and ignore it, maybe pick it up after it fully releases, if it does.

The same happened in the scene with Alex by the river, the "answers" were stupid, if not funny. That doesn't mean that the message afterwards saying that the content ends there, made me rant about the messages. I'd rather have something to laugh about, albeit being frustrated about the content ending at that point, than having a black screen saying "defeated" or something and a text below it saying that the content ends here until the next update.

You have the right to complain about anything you want, but you'll look ignorant and possibly stupid if that's the way you keep thinking about a game that's gonna take a couple years to fully release, especially when the game's free for now. If everything you do is complain, you're just being insufferable while noone forces you to play the game. Since you can't stand the "main idiot", just cheat and look at the gallery that way.

I looked closely at this final version, if you choose the option without honor, then the main idiot will just watch, and then a black screen, but if you choose the option with honor, then the main idiot will get hit on the head and a black screen will immediately appear, this is like a hint that the idiot was knocked out at the end and that the player gets the most shameful defeat with any choice

Oh, you're right, it irritates me when I have to watch a shameful defeat in a game that should have a choice. If other people feel like idiots, then I don't get a thrill out of it. And this is far from the first game that irritates me. I've argued with people a lot of times and met defenders of shit. But shit doesn't stop being shit even if it's defended.

This is nothing until you see the reviews of Summer Heat. Anyway back to Him, this game does look like a nonsense for most part, but I feel like we're barely scratching the surface with the main topic/issue. If you remember when the MC is having some flashback with Alex in their apartment and the moment when the MC could spawn a revolver out of nowhere, then you know that everything doesn't feel like what it seems.

It reminds me when Spec Ops: The Line released its first trailer, people were calling it "a very generic shooter". The first few sequences of that game also feel very generic, but the more you keep playing until the end, the more you realize that the trailer and the first few sequences are just decoys to hide the true nature of the game itself. I wonder if Kabuki is trying to aim with this kind of narrative for Him.

At this point, all we can do is just speculating.

Very enjoyable game. A nice surprise with plenty of content despite being only a few months old. It handles the delicate theme of reincarnation in another universe/world fairly well, although there’s a rather abrupt shift in the protagonist’s behavior at the beginning of the game (at least in the Him path, I didn't play the good guy path), where he simply accepts the wife given to him by the queen and that’s the end of it. There’s no build-up, nor any narrative effort to prepare for that big moment. It was a strange scene and somewhat spoiled the initial magic.

In my opinion, one thing that was handled really well is the protagonist’s past. It’s relevant—something rare in this kind of storyline—but at the same time, it’s not shoved in your face with a long, self-pitying infodump. It was managed masterfully, and I can’t wait to learn more about him and his powers. The characters are each charming in their own ways, even if a bit stereotypical.

Visually, it's excellent and with great models to boot (though I think it would have greatly benefited from better outfit design; there’s too much skin showing too often, which makes the actual action scenes feel less exciting). That said, I have to point out that during the sex scenes the total and complete lack of any sound, music, or anything else does hurt the experience a bit.

The free roaming parts don't add much, but they don't feel like a slough either, and so does the "sandbox" so I can tolerate them, which is rare for my tastes and is a big compliment xD

I’m curious to see where the story is headed, and so far it seems like one of the best medieval fantasy-themed titles on this platform.

This VN is actually quite nice! It reminds me a little of 'How I became a hero'.

PROS:

1. Medieval setting.
2. Fantasy creatures.
3. Good animations.
4. Nice models.
5. Positive vibe (mostly friendly/nice things happen).

CONS:

1. There is not much of a story, especially in chapter 1 (it is basically going from scene to scene). Luckily, chapter 2 seems to have a bit more of it.
2. The eyes of the MC are nightmare fuel. I don't know what happened during rendering, but they look scary/bad.
3. Personal taste, but all the models have large boobs. I would have liked to see a bit more variety.
