Absolutely. I don't necessarily care if anyone criticizes my translation; I took fairly excessive creative liberties and I own up to it. I know there's gonna be pushback. That's okay. I think the only thing that really irks me is that the folks who are complaining are usually the ones that don't really contribute to the community. If other fan-translators or devs were to say, "hey, that's not okay", then I'd respect that far more than some rando sitting on their couch waiting to get spoonfed something.
so, basically, you just said "that's okay if there's pushback 'cause I own up to my decision" just to say the very opposite 2 lines later, justifying it by the fact that YOU say the people criticizing have no value.
I swear, everytime a translator is called of for that kind of shit it's the same kind of answer : "I own up to it but I don't want you to criticize", "I like it better/its better that way", "you're just entitled and have no value so your opinion don't matter"
1.) It's not gonna change anything.
2.) If I hadn't translated it, you wouldn't even have had the option to play an English version of it (unless someone has the one from the other translator -- name's escaping me now, sorry).
3.) If it bothers you THAT much, then I'm totally fine with just privatizing it next time. I translated this particular game the way I did because I like it like that. If you don't, please feel free to translate the game yourself and post it.
From my point of view, if you change so many things you can't claim to be translating anything. You're not a translator in this instance. That's just how it is.
I guess you won't respect my opinion either, even if I do translate english stuff in my own language in other sites (not porn tho), but I'll answer your three points anyway.
1-it does change things
2-I did play it in english mtl when it released, I didn't need you to discover it and any mtl is vastly superior to false translators
3-if you can't comprehend that people dislike false translation then do that and keep it for yourself next time, there's nothing more insuferable than an entitled translator saying stuff like "it's better MY way, the original creators don't matter"
Your way of speaking is just as insufferable as official translators who think they are entitled to change everything just because others don't speak the language. Official translators are just worse because they are paid for it.
Edit : by the way don't bother to writte any reply, we both know how it would devolve in pointless arguments and that none of us will ever change our mind, I just wanted to say my opinion and nothing else, just like you already did. It's ok to disagree on things, let's all live peacefully together, even if we do insult each other sometimes, it doesn't mean we can't share a drink later.
