What is the general expectation of "Pregnancy Mechanics" I see it mentioned a lot when a game doesn't implement it but what are people actually hoping for with this? Is there a game that does do this and delivers on that subject matter well?
It really depends. Some have good endings, some actually have mechanics (like the character being buffed/debuffed), or changes the plot/routes or fighting mechanics because she's in a different stasis, etc. Your gameplay also changes, like for example, if you want the character to be impregnated with x character and not y character. Finally, because of that many of those also have mechanics to help you avoid impregnation (specially if the game also has a risky day mechanic).

About the exact examples, I'll refrain putting them here because besides personal taste, some apply those mechanics better or worse. Not to mention that mods would probably delete the post if I start talking about other games. Just use the Updates page, select "female protag" and "pregnancy" tags, along with other kinks you may like. A lot of games are there.

And don't worry, you didn't shame, it was a decent question. Actually my "complain" wasn't about the preg itself, was about the mechanics and how the game can have fun gameplay or not, which your question helped to answer.

See this as an example: Many people like the step-cest porn around the internet, but at the same time people just laugh at it due to how badly written and how bad the actors are, without any effort to make believable. It's not the exactly the same thing, but I think you got the idea. If I just wanted to see a girl on a "bad ending" I would just see hentai, but this is a game, gameplay is important for fun as well.

Like, 90% of games with a "pregnancy" tag on this website are actually impreg rather than pregnancy proper, since impreg does not have it's own tag, or is strictly epilogue only, or, worst of all, is bad end only (this is becuase japan has some weird views about sex while pregnant)
Pregnancy mechanics typically just mean pregnancy integrated into the game beyond that

Not a kink shame or anything - genuinely curious.
To be simple, you can't walk with your char's 2d sprite in state of pregnancy or battle in that state or whatever.

I think Drop Factory is a good example of mechanics.

Off the top of my head (as a pregnancy man of culture):
-A fertility cycle with matching dialogue (i.e. FMC brings it up during events)
-Free roam while pregnant with matching sprites/CGs and dialogue (i.e. the world reacts to character's pregnancy)
-Repeatable pregnancy (i.e. not ending only)
-The father is acknowledged in some way
-Integration with a corruption system (if it exists)

Probably more but these are the features people typically are looking for.

It's not really my thing, but I think one of the better examples I've seen was some ambrosia-style game where every time the MC got creampied it rolled a roulette to see if you got pregnant. If you did, it would start progressing a cycle until it forced her into a different set of clothes since the old ones didn't fit. It wouldn't let you enter the dungeon and your move speed was slightly reduced, though it did let you still go do some of the lewd scenes in that state. It then required you to go to the hospital to give birth.

Like I said, not really my thing - but I think people are looking for things more like that.

i like mechanics like "Naedoko demon's ground" where your babies are pokemon to use while fighting, or breeding them.

Breeding with monsters? Possibility to meet your progeny later would be a bonus.

One can dream. Palworld devs promised to add sex if they get enough followers. From what I have seen there are some mods in development already with more sexualized pals.

Thanks for the upload though.
Actually I think this game wouldn't really benefit from pregnancy mechanics. Hear me out.

First of all, part of the premise and what makes this game unique is that it's just a school setting, with no magical or supernatural elements (except some unrealistic hypnosis but that barely even qualifies as supernatural).

The main girl is a high school student. There's really not any time for her to get pregnant repeatedly. Getting pregnant once is bad enough already.

This game (played it with bad MTL a few years back) is very impregnation-oriented. Normally, when people rightfully complain about pregnancy tag being just one ending CG, it's because that makes it barely a part of the game. But in this one, there isn't just one single pregnancy ending CG, there are a number of ways for the heroine to end up pregnant. It makes sense for pregnancy to be a bad ending when it happens.

Honestly I prefer it this way compared to some games with a detailed pregnancy system (e.g. Kozue's Strange Journey) where when a girl finally does get pregnant, the game just kinda shrugs it off and moves along, there's no interaction with the father to speak of, and the only thing you can do is talk to some shopkeep who will either provide an abortion or make the heroine give birth after which it's never mentioned again.
