Have you completed her pool achievement and visited her room at least 3 times at night and seen all her sleepwear? The entire details are explained on page 97 of the Companion Guide.
No, I don't. Check the other hints and requirements on your phone to make sure your and her stats are where they need to be (not necessarily maxed out). Then prior to visiting Desire's room, save your game and then continue. Don't get the right outfit when she opens the door? Reload and try again.
Your memory is correct, her ingame cameos are in background, during Aly's room cosplay. 'Right Click' anywhere and then choose a slot to save. Or you can move your mouse pointer to the bottom left of the screen and choose the down arrow that appears.
To my knowledge classic quick save is not active in the game.
It disabled it some time ago together with the "auto save", because the later was causing too much IO traffic on older devices leading to a lot of stuttering.
I hope you didn't do it like you describe, updating straight from 3.5.1. to 3.6.1. You should first update 3.5.1 to 3.6.0 because that is a full replacement update, and then put 3.6.1 on top. I didn't have the issue you describe, but that is just me.
