Main Releases since 2021.

Rel 3.0 : 230 days (lab)
Rel 4.0 : 210 days (sail trip)
Rel 5.0 (ongoing) : 262 days (bar night)

There was a two month break (see patreon post) this time.
Correcting for the two months : 262 days - 2 x 30 days = 202 days (actual development time)

With the release looking in its final stages using the historical pattern does not seem entirely off.
Applying that, a release would occur between 26th march and 15th of April.

Being smaller than the lab release the last weekend in March / first in April seems most realistic

Release has grown more than expected (based on remaining tasks) since this was written. This brings the 2nd weekend (12-13 of April) into play as the most realistic time, however, after that date it would count as delayed even by lab standards.

This is a big update, people!

To keep to the 230 day schedule, he might have to postpone the new girl interaction system
which is what I'm most interested in.

I'd rather just wait and see the full version of 5.0 rather than calling this 4.8
and pushing the new girl interaction to the next update in eight months.

Just stop pestering the guy and be patient everyone.

Instead, how about showing some encouragement like:
"I loved the last update and am looking forward to the new one."

Everyone will get the update when it's ready.

The update is near. I can almost feel it coming. I'm sure, as always, that Darkhound will deliver a clean and almost bugless game, and it's content will be worth every minute waiting for it.

And despite that the game may not be of everyone's taste (I'm not included in that group, of course), one undeniable thing is that the quality of the product he delivers is top notch of all developers I've seen around here, and they're quite a lot

Version 0.5.0.0 - development news (updated 23rd of March 2025)

Hi guys and gals,
this post offers you a collection of news about the next version of Holiday Island (0.5.0.0).
You can see the main focus and side areas for the next update in the above image.
The change log below is based on the release 0.4.5.0.

As of right now, the update from 0.4.5.0 to 0.5.0.0 has:
984 additional renders, videos or sound files (only includes post worked, finished renders)
5 new backgrounds for the phone
153 updated renders or videos

New features, major improvements and new content
  • Joy, the winner of the titfight event will get a special evening and night with our hero -> still working on it (renders 95% done, post work 85% done, writing 75% done)
  • There will be a huge titfight event at the bar with all the specials and some guests -> still working on it (event is done, working on game integration and achievements for phone)
  • The listen to chat and rumors function will be very much extended. For details, please check this post -> still working on it
  • Joy gets a pole dance posing scene in the night bar's pink room -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Mercedes gets a short event at the MC's where she invites him to the titfight event at the bar. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Jessica gets a new room service event with two achievements -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Amy gets another "stay overnight" appointment at her room that's using the same base renders as her existing one, but with some new renders, an additional achievement and changed texts -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • A new sub location for pool billiard will be added to the night bar and Amy will get a repeatable scene with three achievements. She's wearing her special dress during the game -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire gets a new drink scene at a table near the bar wearing her regular dress. The scene has three achievements and a story about a day at the beach with her twin sister Passion. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire will get a new nightbar drink scene on the red sofa wearing her sexy clothes. The scene will have three achievements with a story and a happy ending. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • A new, extended intro dialogue will be added for all characters that have matching attributes (like body type, breast size or height). During the dialogue, the girls will get additional affection points based on matching attributes. This will reduce the grind in the beginning of the game.

  • Added new introductory dialogs for all girls, depending on the player's choices in Joy's office at the beginning of the game. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Joy gets an appointment in her office where you talk about Miriam and Mercedes -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Amy gets and event in the elevator with two achievements and a happy ending -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire's workout pullups scene will be remade and a teasing achievement will be added -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire's shower event has been re-rendered and has four achievements now -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire's scene at the gym shower gets two additional achievements with a happy endings -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire's workout pecs scene will be re-rendered and a lot of new images and a new achievement will be added -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Natasha gets a remade workout pullups scene -> will be part of 0.5.0
Minor improvements and changes (including image upgrades)
  • The wait time between picture minigame messages hast been changed from two days to (on average) one day -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Faye's pool exit scenes have been re-rendered in 2560x1440 and webp format -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Amy gest a short scene wearing her special evening dress and walking along the hallway with the MC -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Desire's room service images have been upscaled and the animations have been improved -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Several pictures have been added to Yumiko's "Guess Who" game. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • The code for girls to send messages for appointments has been rewritten and improved -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Mia will send a couple of bikini pictures and some text to the MC's phone -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Renée gets a personalized introduction on her profile page -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Alice gets a personalized introduction on her profile page -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Brenda gets a personalized introduction on her profile page -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Delizia gets additional character sprites posing her behind at the bar -> will be part of 0.5.0

  • Jessica's pool sunbed scene has been rendered again and new images have been added. Dialogue has been rewritten as well. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Jessica's pool pose scene will be upgraded to 2560x1440 resolution in webp format -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • A quick access button has been added for the player stats -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Scroll bar sizes have been increased and a little more space has been added to make the game navigations easier to use on small devices like mobile phones. -> will be part of 0.5.0
  • Renée's scene at the nightbar in the green room gets an extension (additional position in the couch) -> will be part of 0.5.0
Bug fixes
  • When Amy shows up during Yvette's weight lifting scene when you adjust the weights, a black image is shown -> will be fixed with 0.5.0
  • When asking for an erotic massage and one of the checks (lust, love, affection) failed, the game got stuck -> will be fixed with 0.5.0
  • In some cases, not all "guess who" pictures were shown -> will be fixed with 0.5.0
  • A bug has been fixed where you could get stuck during Miram's breast quest -> will be fixed with 0.5.0
  • Mia's event where she leaves the island could be triggered before her lab scene at the pool -> will be fixed with 0.5.0
  • The arm wrestling icon in the night bar wasn't showing all available scenes -> will be fixed with 0.5.0

Hi guys, is there any chance that I can achieve Yumiko's Easter Egg if she is not listed in the Easter Egg category in the phone? I know how to achieve it. No luck so far but at least her picture should be in Easter Egg section right?

i installed the companion mod and now you get to a near-sex stage with the red head and you have to pose her? yeah. weird. i duno. don't care, kinda stupid, but there's been so many roadblocks in this game to a sex scene with any of the women that i'm used to settling. there's been so many points when you thought you'd score with this hot bitch and who knows. blueballed again or some lame sex substitute. but the posing thing just makes the game crash and you can't ignore, rollback or get around it otherwise. the cheat thing was the only thing keeping this game playable in my opinion, without it you have to work waaay to hard to see a sex scene or something like a sex scene.

the companion mod causes your posing game with the big tittied red head to crash.

when I first played this game with intro quest mode, I got an activity menu with npc like sunbathing, gambling, swimming etc. but when I made a new game without intro quest, why is there no activity menu with npc? I'm already on day 6 but the activity menu with npc still doesn't appear? then I made a new game again with intro quest but there was no activity menu with npc, even though the quest said walking on the beach with amy, but there was no menu. is my game file corrupted?
