FYI and future gameplays, you can see those hints hovering the event.

The only problem is the in game hover hints are missing a step.

The hover hint "You've seen Amy and Alice having fun in the shower and also Amy's arrival scene" --> technically those hints actually unlock Alice's "Ask if she's close with her step sister Amy" conversation option. And the "step sister" conversation is really the true trigger for the "talk about time at school" conversation, which in turn is the trigger for the Devin Cline websearch.

LOL, I'm being over-precise maybe, but some of the achievement triggers can be really tricky to get, so I wanted to post this.

Version 0.5.1.0 - development news (updated 1st of May 2025)

Hi guys and gals,
this post offers you a collection of news about the next version of Holiday Island (0.5.1.0).
You can see the main focus and side areas for the next update in the above image. (will be added in a couple of days)
The change log below is based on the release 0.5.0.0.

As of right now, the update from 0.5.0.0 to 0.5.1.0 has:
0 additional renders, videos or sound files (only includes post worked, finished renders)
0 new backgrounds for the phone
19 updated renders or videos

New features, major improvements and new content

• Alice gets a new scene in her room wearing a black retro lingerie you got for her -> will be part of 0.5.1.0

Minor improvements and changes (including image upgrades)

• Jessica's scene at the beach pavilion has been upgraded to 2560x1440 webp format -> will be part of 0.5.0.1

Bug fixes

• During Yvette's date at the pool, if you try staring at anything else but her face, the camera zooms to the top left corner of the screen -> will be fixed with version 0.5.1.0
• During Amy's masturbation event in her room, with certain endings, the moaning sound didn't stop -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• Jessica's three pool sunscreen scenes won't start due to a missing trigger -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• Yvette's basic pool sunscreen scene doesn't register as done in the achievements -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• The tifight even can trigger far too soon. A check is missing -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• Several typos and spelling mistakes have been fixed -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• When Jessica is introduced at the tit fight, it displays Jennifer's name and comments thanking Mercedes for the introduction. Also, at the end of Jessica's introduction, the name shows as Jennifer. -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• Animation in Joy's office will be adjusted -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• You could ask Amy to play pool with you before having seen the intro event -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1
• The appointment with Joy to talk about Miriam & Mercedes could trigger before you had been to the lab -> has been fixed with 0.5.0.1

Is the update going to break save games?

Are you sure that your physical screen and your windows settings support 1366x768 ?

Because your log file suggests otherwise:
Screen sizes: virtual=(1280, 720) physical=(1184, 666) drawable=(1184, 666)

It indicates that it only supports 1184x666. At least the game thinks so. That's probably why the minimum game resolution of 1280x720 is not working.

Random comment but I just needed to say it: 1184x666 is a very weird and uncommon resolution, and I think I've never heard of it used in Spain. The oldest monitor of the 2 I have on my computer setup that I just retired from service was 1600x900, had 14 years of honorable service, and was still working, so... Where is that resolution still used? I know, I'm a tech elitist sometimes, don't judge me. I'm just curious xD

. While there is no definitive answer it seems to be having to do with fitting the maximum number of pixels while preserving the 16:9 screen ratio.

Edit: some more research, it is about the same number of pixels as 1024x768, but that has the 4:3 screen ratio. 1184x666 fits that number of pixels in 16:9.

Edit2: it seems this was something invented around 2005 to get video hardware with only memory capacity for 1024x768 onto the 16:9 ratio. It is doubtfull that hardware that old is still operable with current systems. So likely it is some virtual/emulation thingy to accomodate some very old and weird programs.

yes I see the settings right in the settings there is no screen settings item

I have been going in and out of this game from the start. One thing I really appreciate from the developer is that no matter which version you last played, if you load that save file, it updates to the current one. That helps so much and if you see this, thank you.

I guess this is a question for darkhound1 - how did you achieve this rare feat?
What tips can you give a novice dev (I'm beginning my Ren'Py journey atm) that would help to avoid the all-too-frequent "Sorry, following the update, your saves no longer work and you'll have to start again"*

yes the 1366x768 is the right one to give you an idea that in version 4.5.1.0 in the settings on the screen resolution it would appear to me 1366x768 instead these versions there is not that item
