There is an explanation of the poker mini-game in the Companion Guide, some of the young ladies have fun with you, others just play for personal favors.

Not sure where you got that idea, but Holiday Island is alive and well. This thread has a lot of activity and information about the game and its updates are posted regularly. Or go directly to the developer's Patreon page for the latest information.

There has been a great deal of content added as well as a number of additions to the game and its controls. Highly recommended, you download and keep the Companion Guide, (linked on the first page of this thread) handy for reference and information on any questions you might have.

About a dozen posts above yours in the 'Development News'. If you're playing on Android, you will have to wait until the release of 0.4.1.0, as that will be the official Android release of the latest update.
